Isn't it ironic?

Over the years I have watched as other people had problems with new versions and installs, and various bugs. But I was one of the lucky ones that never had any difficulties or crashes, etc.
I recently joined many of you and signed up for the lifetime updates for Platinum, and..... (isn't it ironic) every update I have downloaded since has been problematic. The last 2 updates I had to roll back. I keep getting the message SONARPLT has stopped working, and the program will not open any projects, including new ones. What's up with that?

I have an i5 quad core, 8 gig RAM, running Windows 10.

You need to state exactly what is happening and any error message that is presented. What plugins and the project details.

A complete listing of your system too. Audio interface and so on.

What you are experiencing is not normal.

at the risk of sounding like a complete homer, I've had no problems in these past 2 updates.
but you have Noel here willing to help so explain your issue and post your problem reports with crash dumps

Hi,
Sorry, been busy and haven't gotten back to this for a while. Interface is Focusrite 18i20, original version.
After upgrading, Sonar will not open and generates error codes. After rollback everything works fine.

Trouble report is CWBRN-54753 with crash dump included.

It looks like Keith responded to your case. If you have a dell computer the crash is likely caused by their backup utility.

I don't think it's ironic that a consumer grade computer is not always best suited to run a professional DAW application.

I don't think its ironic at all for any "PC" to have audio issues running Windoze ... Thats why Im waiting for the Mac version.

The word we're after, I think, is "unexpected". Also see the Gambler's Fallacy, the belief that past events influence future probabilities.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

In the meantime I'll just run my PC that has no audio issues with SONAR, Reaper, Studio One 3 Pro or Mixbus3/32C.

The only Mac I want is with "'N Cheese".

Yes this turned out to be the problem. Removed the Dell backup program and am now running the latest Platinum update with no issues.  Thanks Keith and Noel for your attention.

While this may be the case, I have been running consumer grade machines with no issues for years.

ive run Sonar on consumer products before, but not until I've wiped the hard drive and done a few things.
but I must admit, the best luck ive had has been the custom built PC I made to do just one thing...
DAW work.

Noel, I wonder if you can take a quick look at these? Just need enough info to determine which plugin is the culprit. Lifetime subscriber here :-)

Both from the same project I'm working on. Had the client with me last night and there were several crashes which didn't get submitted.

Many thanks. (apologies for hijacking this post OP)
