Issues with Sonar 7 Studio Edition

Alright I have Sonar 7 Studio Edition and its been pretty good for me. However I just got a new laptop and transferring all my sonar stuff has been a problem. My original laptop was a 32-bit system, but my new one is a 64-bit system on windows 7. I tried to install the 64-bit version of sonar on my new laptop, but I lost some effects and plug-ins because they were only for the 32-bit version. So I uninstalled that and now am running the 32-bit version on my 64-bit system... so far no major problems but some of my old sonar projects won't open. It gives me the error "There was a problem sending the command to the program". Should I just upgrade my sonar to a version that is more compatible with 64-bit systems? Should I get sonar x1 studio or producer? Or is it possible to run 32-bit sonar 7 Studio Edition on my 64-bit windows 7? I'm not sure if my version of sonar was meant to work with windows 7.

    You can run both 32 and 64-bit version of Sonar on Windows7 64bit.
