It Bites - UK and Europe tour - get along!

http://www.itbites.com/ for more details. esp aimed at Strummie and all the rest of the UK rock fans - if you don't know It Bites, well the history is on the website, but the latest album is called 'Tall ships' and was my favourite of last year...the music is prog-rock, though at the poppier end, no 20 minute epics here! Some amazing guitar and synth work, and some brilliant ideas, if you get a chance, pop down and see 'em, it'll be worth it! I'll be at the Manchester gig...mine's a pint!

Memorare debut album 'Philistine' available now http://blackwoodproductio...philistine-digipack-cd

Are they the ones that did 'Calling all the heroes' or something like that?

I thought for a wonderful moment you were going to cheer me up after a crap day.

A quick visit to the website has left me distinctly disappointed.

Yeah if I remember my eighties didn't they also hail from Cumbria, an achievement in itself as I can't think of a single other act from Cumbria, apart from a certain Stan Laurel from Ulverston of course, one of my comedy heroes. I did once write a tune on my DX7 and my Oberheim drum machine trying to immortalize Cockermouth but it never caught the public imagination

If they drop by Milton Keynes or Northampton I could be tempted

OK, you may have got me there. I'll certainly buy the album and give it a listen.

Yes well spotted Fogster, his guitar was a tad high wasn't it? Funny enough, it makes sense for a virtuoso style, but many other players manage it in the standard position. To each his own of course, it just doesn't look "cool" does it?

EDIT: Come to think of it, as you mentioned Hooky too, didn't Ian Curtis wear his Vox "teardrop" guitar a tad high too? Think I'll mooch on Youtube for the "love will tear us apart" video

EDIT #2: Look here Love will tear us apart yes IC wears it high, mind you he looked great in every recorded image ever made of him. For me Ian Curtis transcended artistry, he was a Shaman, a link between our world and another world

Maybe they were influenced by him

but it's one song that I hate hearing covered, the original or nothing.. even the new order version is pale.

he did feature in 24 hour party people.. It was just odd.. a bit like that guy in the Manics as well who just vanished.
