It Makes No Sense To Me - FIXED IT !

James, you're on to something here.  I liked the main body of the song to begin with, but it has a few twists and turns that I didn't expect which made me like it even more.  Can't wait to hear the finished version.
 
Hi Lynn , thanks for the listen . This music took me around the beaten path four times over untill I finally ended up with this , the bad cold I was dealing with for over a week didn't help the creative process either .
I almost gave up on it but thought no I can't do that just because I feel bad so just keep hammering away .
Finally the cold went away and I was able to get this finished , now I'm working on lyrics scouting around on the internet searching for song writing tips from music sites.
I have some of the lyrics taken from an old song and plan on rewriting those lyrics so it works with this music I posted here .
 
As you know I'm not as good of a song writer as some of you on this forum , mainy because I don't work at it as much as some of you do .
I have decided to give up the electronic side of my goals and start spending more time on creating music that can be turned into songs with lyrics and vocals .
That means I'll have to spend the next five years working on hammering out good lyric writing skills and work with my vocals more .
 
Thanks again Lynn taking the time to listen to my music , it means alot to me .
Maybe someday I will be as good as you and some of the other good song writers and musicans are with lots of practice and hard work .
Like the old saying goes , nothing is free you have to earn it so I better get cracking .

Thanks , I just made some small lead changes in the two verse sections and added alittle something extra to my bridge section .
Not sure if I will use this new version or just stick with what I have posted , I guess whatever works best with the lyrics I plan on writing for this music . It has to be singable so it sounds the way I want it to sound vocal wise .
The lead melody I think has alot to do with the way you express yourself as you sing so right now I'm messing around with two slightly different lead  versions to work with and try out when I start adding vocals .
My chorus section I won't change ,I now have my lyrics written for that part of the song . Its the two verse sections I'm trying to focus on when working with melody and lyrics .

Hi James, had a chance to listen to this, sounds cool :). Reminds me of 80s series theme music, which is not a bad thing :). I sit doodling on my XF8 doing stuff like this. What plans do you have for it?. I never seem to go beyond the doodle personally, but they are nice tunes. I have found I definitely approach writing a lyric song differently to a musical piece too.

Most of my lyrical songs of recent years have actually been my wifes penmanship, then me putting music to it. I do however still write songs, just more sporadically, if left to my own devices :).

Thanks Tony , sounds like you and your wife share a close bond in partnership and music which is cool .
I was working on my lyrics yesterday for this song and realize this lead melody in this version posted isn't going to work the way I thought it was so last night I started creating a new lead melody track thats more inline with the old 1996 version  .
Anyway thats where I'm at right now trying to find a melody that will work with the lyrics I'm rewriting from the old version of this titled song .

Thanks for the listen and comments , time to get back to the song and see where that new melody track takes me today .

James, it's 3:25am here at least. I think the lyrics are fine. They don't however sit correctly in the mix and are out of time slightly. I am using the headphones, which definitely affects how I hear things, but, that's an issue. Keep at it, you made it past a hurdle you wanted to get over :).

Good work on the vocal James... I think you did well with the lyrics too... I believe the production might be more effective if you muted the lead line during the vocal sections...  well done...
 
Hey thats an ideal I might mess around maybe with tonight , I'll stick with this for now .
Thanks for the heads up on the lyrics and vocals too , I think everyone around here might hear more of my future song projects with music, lyrics and vocals .
I like electronica type music but someone told me too many people are doing it now and its starting to wear thin with everyone . Music with lyrics and vocals is the way to go I think , people never get tired of those types of songs .

Hi Bob , thanks for the comments on music , lyrics and vocals . Everyday on our local news it crime , sex crimes and it never seems to stop so I thought why not write about it . I figured I might as well be the first to get this kind of message out here and on SoundClick , who knows maybe I'll save a life or two with this song .
