It is possible to upgrade from Sonar Steam Edition to Platinum Edition via Cakewalk Store?

If I have the Steam Edition, the upgrade to Platinum buyed/acquired from Cakewalk´store will work or I'm attached to the Steam Store? I would like to take advance of the Black friday promotion.

    It is possible to upgrade Steam distributed versions to Cakewalk distributed versions of their products. If you have tried to purchase at the CW store and do not see the correct price do not complete the purchase, instead send CW Customer Service an email. Today is a holiday so there is probably no one there to answer the phones. You may not get a reply until next week but I expect they will honor the price once they get back to the office.

    I do not speak for Cakewalk but I do recall the question about upgrading from Steam when the new SONAR was released. It was not immediately available on the Steam site and CW staff replied that it was possible to purchase from the SONAR site. At the time it took Customer Support involvement because there was no linkage between Steam and CW store purchases. I suspect this still might be the case but cannot say for sure not having purchased anything from Steam.
