It's all about me!
so help me remember to have a man crush on a saxy sax player but make sure you're redeemed cause carrying those grudges can cause forgetfullness and seeing can't be unseen unless you're a NIGHT FOX who used to be NIGHT RIDDER, who used to be RADIO who loves becan and arpeggios and the study of them but do arpeggios and metal and coffee go together and if so, how does that help mooch get his ipad working with v-control? is there an iQuote for that? will bapu double post them? does bapu practice on a bazz amp? is it gnu? and if so, did he steal it from djwayne? and is djwayne really a DJ? if so, what does he need with a bass amp? does the bass amp cook? if so, does it cook becan and eggs for bill's breakfast? down by the river? on the porch? on Memorial Day? when Scotty was declared missing? did anyone realize that Scotty might have been beamed up for the final time? but did beagle finish his boycot? or did he lie on a cot? or is he lying now?

dj wayne was a musician first, then got talked into dj'ing at a local Irish pub by a cute barmaid, and did that for a couple of years, Also used the dj gig to promote local musicians, by letting them play thru the P.A. system. In my spare time I built a home studio to record other musicians. I was planning on building a small 8 track pro studio years ago but ran out of funds and technology made that plan obsolete. So now I'm left with a bunch of recording equipment and upgrading it to a very nice home studio for songwriting and to make recordings of my friends. Plus it's fun to build a studio and get it all up and running. Why do I need a bass ?? To add to the total sound of my recordings. Watching Lizzie's video, (see "Nice young lady's" video in the X1 section of the forums above )brought it to my attention that a just simple bass pattern can add a tremendous amount to the overall sound of a recording. So I have $1,000's of dollars of recording equipment, so I asked myself, "Why do I NOT have a bass ?? " So I went out looking and found one I liked. Now I'm practing on it at least an hour or two a day. I used to play bass in a country band many years ago, so I do have a feel for it. Now I'm getting lots of free bass guitar lessons off of You Tube...there's many posted there. So why not ??

Here's a link to one of the artists I used to promote while dj'ing.... http://www.mossymoran.com/ He had just came to the U.S from Ireland and needed a break, so I let him play during my dj gig and made some recordings, got them played on the radio and he got booked all over town within a short while. Dj'ing is a great way to promote music, and to learn about what other people like listening to. I highly recommend it for any musician.

Dj'ing is a great way to promote music, and to learn about what other people like listening to. I highly recommend it for any musician. Good advice. Back in the 80's and 90's when I was playing out, we used to DJ during the breaks. We did it for a lot of reasons ... We had control over all the music. We didn't have to wait for the bar owner to turn the jukebox off when break time was done and that allowed us to keep a really schedule. People didn't get pissed when the jukebox got turned off and they lost their money. We controlled what was played and made sure it was in line with what we were doing. Nothing worse than ending on Mony Mony and Smells Like Teen Spirit plays next on the jukebox. We played a lot of line dancing songs on break that we just couldn't do live. Macerana, Electric Slide, etc etc. And lastly, we took requests and a lot of times learned that songs people wanted to hear.

I found that a lot of musicains hate dj's because they think we steal gigs from them. But the reality is, the dj is the one who's playing your music for other people when you're not around. We promote the listening of music, hence record sales, and popularity of the artists, national, and local. Yes I was doing a gig in a bar, but none of the local musicians had shown any interest in doing it until after I had built up a crowd. THEN they all wanted to step in and take over the gig. LOL !!

[Craigb's Unconscious Mind] I'm feeling ignored. He feels "Self-Conscious"? Is that some sort of insult? I don't even get an honourable mention? I'd better get some attention or he's in for a rough night in dreamland. Oh, yes. I've got some lovely surprises gnawing through their chains now...

UbiquitousBubba You're going to make him watch Terms of Endearment again? In highschool, I actually took a girl to the movies to watch that (on a first date).....I don't remember a single scene, but I do remember her crying throughout the movie. If it were upto me, I would've prolly chosen a Die Hard film.......but, I was already thinking about a second date and let her choose the movie......(the 2nd date never happened anyway).

Well (in my defense), I did give her the option of a movie or me singing outside her bedroom window (back then, I had to use the natural/analog version of Autotune).

.....yes....yes.....many tears were shed.....I could see the agony of defeat in her eyes......the sky was crying...... In hindsight, I now see that she peacfully accepted a date instead of going the legal route with a court order. (She knew what was up.....she knew the game....I think I've been played).
