I've been looking for a decent reverb, although it seems a lot of people here recommend Sonitus, Lexicon or Perfect Space, none of which I have used (always used hardware-based verbs). How would Breverb2 compare?

How would Breverb2 compare? Good question, I've heard rave reviews about earlier versions of this one. I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on it.

The original Breverb, which I own gets decent reviews. I think you can replicate most of it in other less expensive reverbs. In the end, it's a taste thing and I'd say more people are slanting to these more lush type ones like 2C_Aether. You can try the new Breverb demo. They've cut out the annoying sound burst in favour of dropouts so you can at least test it better now. ArtsAcoustic Reverb, Redline Reverb, Pristine Space, 2C_Aether, PSP EasyVerb, EOS Reverb, ValhallaRoom & Altiverb.

Or... think of BREVERB 2 Get that $20,000 sound, all in a single plug-in, for less than $200! BREVERB 2 makes your mixes sound like a Grammy Award winning song. For $200 I can win a Grammy?

Yes I tried that but found that it would be of limited use to me because of its 'lushness' (which I must say does sound pleasant) I'm more interested in this for setting up more traditional Hall, Plate and Room type sends on templates. I thought this required a dongle to try out but I'll give it a test if that's not a requirement just to try it.

strikinglyhandsome1 PSP EasyVerb Recently got that one as part of the KVR Save The Children auction where I got the entire PSP Suite. Gonna have to give it a try. Admittedly, my go to is the UAD EMT 140. Almost never fails me.

No dongle required for Breverb. I've not tried PSP EasyVerb. Used to get mentioned a lot a year or two back but there's a lot more available nowadays. Some freebies - LiquidSonics' Reverberate, kjaerhusaudio classic Reverb, Ambience & Omniverb.

Don't forget to try IK's Multimedia's CSR (classic studio reverb). I got it in their last mega group buy and have stopped using the cpu hogging convolutions... CSR sounds great, has low cpu overhead, is extremely programmable, and they have a free 10 day full on demo... if you can't try it before you buy it...

Ahhh....Algorithmic Reverbs :) Don't forget Valhalla Room...That's a remarkable sounding reverb... The Wave Arts Masterverb is also fantastic with low CPU and great results...The Toneboosters Reverb should also be high on the list... In fact EVERYTHING from Toneboosters should be...They are all excellent plugins... I also like TAL Reverb II for plates, but TAL Reverb III didn't rock my boat,so it was nice of Patrick to keep v II updated and "in the stable"... FreeVerb3 is also worth checking out...There's an update that's just been released with some newly coded algorithms...The GUI is not very sexy but the reverbs sound fine.... I also like the BlueVerb DRV 2080 from Nomad Factory...Sounds a little like an old Lexicon to me...

Thanks, everybody, for the great information, and I hope I haven't hijacked the thread too badly! Has anyone had experience with 112dB Redline Reverb? I know strikinglyhandsome mentioned it in one of his posts ...

Demo it. It's an out of the box reverb ie sounds good straightaway. Not one I own but a few of my trusted people like it. The one concern, and it may be answered on the site or elsewhere, is that the main person/developer died recently and I'm not sure what support and updates there are going to be in future etc.
