It's nice to get a post in edgewise,however....

And that's a big "However". Most boards that I have frequented have a group of wisemen who hang about with the intent of helping the newbs get situated into the fold. These same wisemen have a tendency of being wiseguys at times of impatience or irritance. They become defensive when one of the fold is attacked or belittled and come in to the fray with guns blazing. I don't believe that their intentions are not warranted in most of their rebuttals and should be understandable to a majority of reasonable people. The recent self searching and adjusting is good but I think has gone a bit far in my opinion and is ruining the spirit of this forum. I make this forum part of my daily reading regimen and for the past few week's it's lost a little of the spirit that I find enjoyable so I thought I would post a thread here about my thoughts. It's time you guy's get over this funk and get back to business of sorts. Granted the mocking thread titles have subsided a little, not necessarily a bad thing kind of flattering and a little annoying at the same time but to be expected. Have at it Coffee House.

    Thank You CT

I also think the forum lost a little perspective but also think the self-adjustment phase is just a phase and I for one fully expect the Coffee House to re-emerge with the same spirit you and I enjoy as well as being even more accommodating to everyone that wants to hang out here to enjoy each others company.

The recent self searching and adjusting is good but I think has gone a bit far in my opinion and is ruining the spirit of this forum. I fear that unfortunately not everything has been completely resolved and a lot of people are not sure what's "allowed". And I also suspect that that there are still differing views about "how much" of this or that is "appropriate".

And that's just not conducive to what I saw as the "creative energy" that existed before.

I'm largely an optimist, but I think it's perhaps a tad optimistic to expect it's going to settle into being "just like before, but not quite". So I would rather focus on creating the new. YMMV.

Actually fart gags aren't really my genre.

And it's not so much me anyway - because, within reason, I don't really care all that much what the world thinks of me.

    Hi CT, welcome.
Now I was wondering why you picked a white cowboy hat over a black one.  I got myself one last year and couldn't really decide saw I picked white.  I checked out a lot of country artists it seems 50/50 on who pickes one or the other.

White hat? that my friend is a 12X Mexican straw, never seen black straw and I wouldn't wear a painted one. As far as wearing it, it's the same hat that I wore on a tour of Scandinavia, got look's there and I didn't have to say what country I was from but I did have to say "Not Texas" a few times. I have to remind folk's about that black hole between Arizona and Texas called the state of New Mexico. Yorolpal, you can keep that lid cause I got the real thing already.

CT, it is unlikely that the CH will be what it was before, but it can become a newer, perhaps wiser, fun place.

By the way, really like NM.  Years ago I had a job that for awhile required business travel to the state.  NM is to blame for giving the lie to what other western states wrongly refer to as "Mexican" cuisine.  Nothing like NM chili peppers.
