It's the little unessential things...

Which you can do w/o when you have to that can make a world of difference.

Being w/o a real home and having to keep our belongings to a minimum for 2 years, there are quite a few of those little things I'd given up on temporarily. But now that we're home, we're getting those little things back, a couple at a time...

One thing I missed a lot was my japanese sen-cha green tea - tea leaves, not teabags - and having a real tea set to prepare it. I need my coffee, but I love my tea and the little ritual around it.

And so we just received our new tea set last night - and a bunch of other things - like,  in the same spirit, chopsticks. There's plenty of meals I was used to eating w/ chopsticks.

Man, I'm happy to have those things back into my life.

Yeah, I can see how taking your chopsticks on the road with you would be cumbersome ;)

    LOL

As a matter of fact, I was secretly hoping we'd end up in Japan for at least a couple of months. ;)

    I hear ya Rain.
    It's the little things.

I found those shish kabob sticks come in handy around the shop. Those and toothpicks (the round maple kind).
Need shop supplies....have a party! lol

Actually, that's the one thing they had everywhere we lived and which we had no use for - a TV. We used them to hang clothes to dry. I'd have traded them for a traditional teapot anytime. ;)

Wow...  And I was only referring to the one I used to have in my bedroom - right in front of an adjustable Tempurpedic bed.

I doubt I'd be able to hang much laundry over a teapot...

Hard to watch the telly with laundry hanging over the screen.

Two big musician television guys: Elvis and John Lennon both adored it.

And here is a Crowded House song about when the TV was on the blink: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV8w3QqmHiE

And they're two of my biggest heroes. I've heard Alice Cooper also had TVs everywhere too.

But then again, there are also TVs everywhere chez Celine.

    And anyway... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0NcCZmojUM ;)
