Hmmm, after the complete mess-up 2K Games made with the PC version of
Bioshock 2, I shall be avoiding this one.

    Shame.

bub , I wouldn't get too excited about new games now.. it's all middle management these days more worried about their job safety using the same FPS engine again and again... and the real talent (who make the things) has little say.

if you find yourself disappointed.. have a nice game of wizzball instead

    http://retrospec.sgn.net/game/wizball

and it'll probably be online game I guess, with loads of people cheating using wall-hacks etc.. that's what trashs such games.

Man the cheaters really do ruin it.  I used to run a Quake 3 server and I was constantly banning cheaters.  Then they'd get pissed and launch a denial of service attack on my server and shut me down until I could clean it up.  I had the server up for years.  It was a blast and I made some great friends from all over the world, but it just wasn't worth the headaches anymore and I shut it down.

Can this possibly be real? I'll believe it when I see it.

For the backstory, read this. It's an excellent summary of the Duke Nukem saga that appeared in Wired magazine about a year ago.

It would appear that Take-Two acquired the source code in the lawsuit and teamed up with ex-3d Realms people to finally finish the project. This is gonna be the biggest event in the gaming world since Half-Life and Halo 2. I'm looking forward to the movie version.

Never played Quake 3 online, but I ruled Quake 1 online. Just out of curiousity I fired up Q1 and logged on to an active server a few weeks ago. They still remembered me after over 10 years and asked me to leave! LOL! When I was younger I would work all day, play Q1 till 5 in the morning, slept for a couple hours, went back to work, plus I played out on the weekends. My God I would drop dead in two weeks if I ever tried that now.

I made a lot of friends too. It was like a soap opera some times, just like it is here.

I read the article Bit posted a link to. Very interesting. I think it's real this time. They are taking pre-orders on Amazon.

What it sounds like happened was, the guy ran out of money and that's what finally pushed him to let the game be finished.

    Shame.
I gave up on PC gaming when the PS3 came out. I don't know what happened with B2 on the PC but I have to say I was disappointed with it compared to B1. It was half the game for the same price. If you bought it as apposed to renting it you kind of got screwed.

And another thing ... what on Earth happened to Far Cry 2? I mean, it is an incredible game that is very playable over and over again, but it's nothing like the first one. It really should have been called something else.

Far Cry was one of the greatest games ever, on par with any of the great classics. I still play it from time to time, and it's still fun even though by now I can beat most levels with a machete and a smoke grenade.

And I can't even run Train Sim on my pathetic machine! sob!

I was at a friends the other night and they showed us their new family toy. A 32" Sony TV and an X box.
You stood in front of it and it created a cartoon image of me ( lot like the avatars of the CHB.)
So you had to control this river raft with body language and waving of arms.
I figured they finally made a way for gamers to not be fat people anymore.
You would not be able to sustain activity for to long, and it's best not to live on the second floor.
I was disappointed that it wouldn't let me scratch my ass.

I haven't played it in a long time only because I don't want to install anything on my DAW.

I still love the old 2D scrolling games like Monster Bash 1~3, the original Duke, Xargon 1 ~ 3, Vinyl Goddess.

Can you imagine Xargon updated to today's graphics? What an amazing game that would be, Monster Bash too. Kind of like the new release of Castlevania. It looked amazing on the PS3.

And it looks like it's getting delayed again.

It was supposed to be released in May, now it's been bumped until June. What a crock of $hit.

Don't waste your time going to their web site either. The announcement directs you to a Youtube video and it won't let you watch it unless you sign up for a Youtube account ... which is another crock of $hit. First time I've ever seen that on Youtube, I hope it's not a sign of things to come.

What's really bad about this is, they are taking people's money for pre-order. That ain't right, especially given their history.

I was terrible at Half Life 2 on the PS3. I don't think I ever finished iirc. The controller didn't react properly which seemed to be a problem in early shooters on the PS3. I'm hoping HL-3 will be better.

The new Batman Arkham City is coming out on 10/18/11 and Uncharted 3 is coming out in 11/01/11. Can't wait for those either! They're working on Red Dead Redemption 2 as we speak but no official release date same with Far Cry 3.

I was just reading that the Playstation Network was hacked and they stole everyone's personal information. Apparently their network has been down over a week with no solid ETA when it will be back up. DOH! Story Here.

Arghhhhhhhh - Sony aren't my favourite people at the moment Karyn. I have an account with them for my lad, and I can't believe how badly they've been compromised.

I do online banking with NatWest and I'm checking my account details every couple of hours.

I have an account as well,  but I figured that if they really stole 70 million people's account details as reported on the news, then it'll take a few years before they get around to maxing out my credit card...

Ah, I've sussed your name is Karyn Zzyzx.

How did you know??   Wait a minute....   Are you the secret haxxor!!???
