I've been wanting to try S-Gear

for a long time and finally downloaded the demo. This software is really nice. I don't like guitar sims, I've never been able to get them to sound good. Every single preset sounded great. I think I'm sold.

All the presets are great and highly usable.  If you go to their forum there are quite a few nice User created presets as well.

S-Gear sounds great with a real guitar played through it and a Virtual vst type guitar. I use it on every project.

I bought it today. Never thought I'd buy an amp sim because none of them sound good to me. S-Gear is the exception. I use it with real guitar and I just can't believe how good this is. Even with distortions when you stop playing it's quiet. I'm going to check out the user presets as you suggested.

Like a moth to a flame, here I am echoing everyone else with kudos to S-Gear. Since it was on sale really chesp a couple of weeks ago, I got GTR and while some of the sounds are nice, playing through it just sounded/felt kinda plastic. It does turn me off a bit.  I also got BX Megaduel this week on sale which is better to play through compared to GTR but still not quite as good as S-Gear, though it does sound pretty nice.

I bought Megadual for the $29. I figured I'd try it since it was cheap. No WOW factor for me like S-Gear is. I still can't believe how good S-Gear sounds. Worth every penny to me. I have GTR that came with  one of my Waves bundles and no cigar with that either. S-Gear is the first one I tried that sounded great. I'm really happy with it.

I'm with you guys on S-gear.  Really an amazing piece of software.  I just wish he'd add an AC-30 . . . .

S-Gear is right near the top of my list (I might still slightly..and I mean SUUULIGHTLY) prefer Amplitube 3...but there S-Gear is nose to nose with it...and in some cases superior.

20-25 years ago, I NEVER would have believed you could get sound like that going direct in.

Over the years I picked up a few different amp sims ....Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Amp Farm....ect. they are all excellent. They all have highly usable amps, effects and presets....but something changed when I bought S-Gear. It just became the easiest one to usez and it sounded the best in my projects....I only use the others when I need a completely different tone or they have an effect like auto pan, that S-Gear does not.

I think in general we gravitate to what works well for what we do...when S-Gear started out they only had 4 amp models, they have since added more and broadened their audience. They did the same with effects.

That is what a good software company does....
