I've done something unthinkable.............
I took the stock Gibson P-90's out of my Gibson LP Studio 50's Gold Top Tribute......
Gutted the electronics........
And ................I took off the.......Cream Hardware.....................

.....Oh Nooooooh!
Ditched the Reflector bell knobs............
Then I.................
Blacked Her Out
Threw on some speed knobs
EMG P81 active bridge p/u
EMG P60 active neck p/u
2-25k volume controls
1-25k passive tone control on the bridge
1-RPC variable control on the neck
Set her up for some drop Dflat........
Man this little girl screams .........
I'm still thinking I'll likely throw an 18 volt mod on her...........then she'll breath a little harder.......
Before.........................................
After...........................
I know its not very "Traditional" or proper with the purists.............but heck the "Gibson" cork sniffers don't appreciate "Studios" anyway............and I have a Worn Ebony Gibson LP Studio 50's Tribute that plays out a bit nicer so I'm leaving that one stock................for now.
The Cream on the Gold Top did look nice......... the p-90's weren't cutting it for me.....
I was going for something more aggressive.........
I like the Black Plastics, Speed Knobs w/EMG's.......its kinda..........mature "Metal"?
What do you guys like or prefer?
