I've just made some HUGE savings!

Yesterday, we were going to Whole Food for the groceries, and my wife said - Christmas is coming soon, let's go to Guitar Center.

Having received an e-mail from GC minutes before we left stating that the Black Friday sale was starting "now", I assumed they had to be open. Canadian naivety.

So it turns out the store is open today - but our work week also begins today, so that's a no-go.

Man, did I just save some big $ right there!

I was apprehending that I may be in trouble if Waves, having announced their biggest sale ever, were to put either the SSL bundle or JPP's Analog Legend on sale. McDSP's Channel G was another source of concern. I could not possibly pass on a decent deal for either of these.

These were my 3 biggest temptations, along w/ a few other McDSP.

Well, I've been spared!

It's such a disappointment relief seeing that none of these are on sale this morning.

Yup. But that's still out of my comfort zone for plug-ins at this time (I'm a cheap bastard). Maybe I'm not being realistic about it but I can wait until they offer a better deal OR go on living w/o it.

My favorite shopping center and Guitar Center, lol, don't forget to get a slice of their pizza on the way out. <-(Whole Foods)
Take your time getting accustomed to Vegas.

I'm several years Guitar Center-free now. Feels good being clean again. But today I had a momentary relapse, stepped over to the dark side and gave Musician's Friend some money. I couldn't help myself. It was such a good deal!

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I'm usually pretty pragmatic in my shopping - I rarely visit music stores just to see stuff - there's the internet for that, plus you don't have to deal w/ sales persons.

Walking into a GC, unless it's to buy strings, I'd have only 3 or 4 items on my potential list.

    - Audio Interface upgrade (most likely something from Focusrite)
    - Bass (cheap one)
    - A small guitar amp or
    - A POD HD

As much as I'd like to have one of those Avalon Pre or an API channel strip, I don't need any of that. And I find a certain pride in trying to squeeze as much as I can out of my humble set up. Plus we can have access to all that gear almost any time we need to.
