I've never been remotely cool...

Just been going through reams of old paperwork and de-cluttering. Found some ancient photos...

That's 'The Model' circa 1979/80. From left Tim (vocals & guitar) Danny (bass), me (guitar) Marc (drums)

Love how we posed in descending height, could have done the classic 'I look up to him' sketch.

Got any good ones of your own?

I thought these were of you Steve!

Unfortunately for me, an entire moving box filled with old photos, all of my my martial arts certificates and awards as well as magazines I wanted to save was left on the moving van (and subsequently lost) when I moved to the Pacific Northwest from Southern California...  STILL pissed off about that...

Just before we 'split up' we had a song on a compilation LP called 'Songs From Pigland'..I've just had my gob smacked to find the song on YouTube..wtf??...warning..it's really, very bad indeed, but mercifully edited down from the original 5 minute version.

James Lance ( on the far left kneeling). This pic was taken in the parking lot of my Sound Logic Recording Studio in 1979. This was in the town called Atwater. The Beastie Boys took over the studio in the '80's.

I wasn't that cool either so I tried faking it for fun.  The main picture I miss the most is one from 1984 where I'm in front of a Marshall full stack ("rented" for the gig, hey we we're opening for Blue Oyster Cult! - LOL).  I'm playing a custom black flying-V (owned by the drummer) and wearing black leather pants and shirt with this yellow leather zig-zag inlay that made it look like Charlie Brown's shirt in reverse.  Add some nice s*** kicker boots, bleached blond hair past my shoulders and there you go!  *Sigh...*

Luckily I have no embarrassing photos of me as a teen or young adult because I made sure they were all destroyed, every single last one of them....

I do however have a few of me as tot, and I just noticed that my socks are at wildly different heights in most of them. Take for example:

That Guitar is a Giuliano Balestra Vulcan . It was built by my friend Giuliano Balestra with the hopes that Peter Frampton would endorse it
Peter wanted it for free & I was standing right there when he asked for it for free.
My friend Giuliano could not absorb the cost to comp the guitar to Peter , so I bought it ....
That photo is at Iona College in New Rochell . there is a small crowd of 2000 people not seen in the pic.

BTW , you may or may not know this ...Buck Dharma used to play a 2 pick up Balestra Vulcan ....
http://www.buckdharma.com/Guitar/pic04.html

For the record I was the first guitarist to actually own and play that style Vulcan ....mine was a 3 pickup Vulcan...

Yeah , I dig my Les  a lot better
all the best,

Well, I sit corrected!  LOL.  I barely recall much of that one time I met him (he showed me how to play Don't Fear the Reaper), but he was using a Les Paul at that time.  Later I know he went with some Steinbergers.

The Have Mercy Blues Band - Night 2 Live at the Empty Room. It's part of our 1990 World Tour, now in its 26th Big Year! Unfortunately, we've been on hiatus for more than 25 1/2 years and some of us got a gig in Eternity, so I think some of the fan support has dwindled a bit.

It was freakishly cold that weekend, so I opted for jeans instead of my usual fluorescent rainbow colored pants. Yeah, I'm more like Anti-Cool.

My brother posted this on Facebook today and I had to laugh. We're at my mother's wedding, must have been around '82 or '83 because I think I was about 10. Haven't seen a photo of myself at this age for....well, probably not since I was that age. Jeez look at that hair. It must be the lighting or something because I don't recall it being so bright red! And I seem to have had an almost Donald Fagenesque scowl. Looking back I think I used to scowl quite a bit. Couldn't have my photo taken without looking down slightly and scowling. God knows why I have a mini teddy bear sticking out of my shirt.

It's good thing that photo is a still shot and not a video there Bapsi.

Otherwise, some of us just might get together and demand that you put the bass down and finally learn how to dance already.

More of a strawberry blond now I guess....although it seems to have been about 4 or 5 different colors depending on my age. I have another photo from the same wedding where it looks like a completely different color....
