Hi, Can I take dibs on going to "CC"? And definitely "DD"!

Okay... so you'll have to excuse my ignorance being a Canucker and all and I feel the need to further preface this by saying I am not "anti-gun" but am "pro-training/licensing/registration"... which isn't such the political firestorm up here as it is in... well whatever. You get it. But this is more out of technical curiosity because I've never actually handled a handgun (let alone a fancy modern one like that Walther)... 1) What's the double trigger thingie for? 2) What's that (what looks to be some kind of swivel arm) directly above and/or to the right of the trigger? 3) What's the weird bent thing on the "track" (or whatever that's called) directly above the front/to the left of front of the trigger guard? 4) Was this gun designed by Walter Mathau or a guy named Walter who had an unfortunate speech impedement? Inquiring minds want to something something, blah blah... woof woof...

To be honest Beeps, I only looked at it/handled it on Christmas day and put it away after that. I don't really know all the technical details of it . Although I've handled and shot guns back in college, I'm still going to take a class/practice in using this. Here's something that might be helpful:

I haven't used a weapon like that since I retired from the military. I prefer revolvers because it much more difficult to accidently fire it. Semi auto revolvers have feather lite triggers and can fire too easy IMHO. Both my sisters use 9mm All the members of my family are very good marksman and just as safety conscious

Indeed. Looks like a lot of moving parts but likely very slick for range shooting. The one thing in particular I find odd is the magazine/clip release being placed where it is. I thought that was the safety. I'm guessing that's normal but being the spazz I am, and having watched enough shows/movies about incompetent bumblers with guns, I could totes see myself getting ready to save the free world by popping a cap in the baddie(s) but hitting the mag/clip release by accident then it comically falling from the handle and breaking one of my toes thus dooming the human race to be enslaved by a hybrid alien race of reptilians, "PREDATORS" and highly intelligent Barney Fife clones. I'm thinking Billy 'o' the Bayou's snubby wheel gun might be the safer bet... yanno... just in case I need to save the werld from a rabid army of Don Knotts zombie clones. ... yes... these are the things i worry about... DON'T JUDGE ME!!!
