Glad you did!  That's a pretty poor way
of doing business.  Once you register, they
should give you some information, somehow,
that tells you how to get it!

Now what about Nectar 3 Advanced (or Production Suite)?

Advanced will do the singing for you.

Jeez, that's what I've been doing wrong!

Vocalsynth is quite interesting.  Presents lots of possibilities,
but it's a CPU muncher...

Would you recommend it for harmony/normal singing? Not into robotstuff myself.

I always thought Melodyne was better for harmonies than Vocalsynth.

I was hoping VocalSynth 2 would bring some live harmony to the table :)

It's more of "Synth for Vocals" than a Harmony
generator.  While I'm sure it could be done with
it, I don't know how "passable" it would be...

Antares Harmony Engine does a decent job with
a little work.

How is Nectar 3 working for those of you that got it?
I have the Nectar Elements with Track assistant and I find that super helpful. Just contemplating the upgrade to this N3.

Thanks again Lars for finding the deal. At $255 it’s highly tempting.

I really wish Izotope would just offer me a decent deal to upgrade Nectar 2 to 3. I’ve got all the other Izotope stuff I need, as well as Melodyne. Oh well...

I'm curious, too.

I've had Nectar 2 since its introduction. It held great promise at first (I was a big fan of Alloy at the time), but every time I tried to use it I ultimately ended up going with other tools. Haven't even loaded Nectar in years.

So unless somebody suggests a compelling new feature, I can't muster much excitement for Nectar 3.

Music Production Suite 1 -> Music Production Suite 2 is just $49 less ($249) than the single Advanced Product upgrade. You'd think they would be better to their customers that have the full suite v1 (only one year ago). Guess it's a no go for me.

On the other hand, take heed, gentlemen.
If history guides us right, we should refrain and abstain.
Indeed, sale pricing on this kind of bundle upgrade (the MPB with Ozone Advanced, Insight, Nectar Production Suite, Alloy 2 and Trash2 plus expansions) went all the way from $299 ($209 at JRR) in the fall of 2015, in fact already half price of list $599, down to $99 ($64 at Time+Space) in the spring of 2016.
This could mean that the Music Production Suite 2 upgrade (from Ozone or Neutron Advanced) will cost not much more than $60.
So, if you don't urgently need the bundle, you may decide to wait things out.

Not likely I'm afraid.  I don't see the MPS getting
any cheaper any time soon.  I could be wrong,
but I don't see it happening.  YMMV.

I'm inclined to agree with Fleer.

Although iZotope has always been very savvy about maximizing profits, there eventually comes a time when any product's sales level off and a kick in the pants is needed to boost them back up.

That's been my experience with every company that sets initially high upgrade prices, such as iZotope, Native Instruments and Celemony. I've always held out upgrading Kontakt, Ozone and Melodyne for at least a year, and every time they've eventually got me with an upgrade offer I couldn't refuse. Return business is a big deal for any company, and they'd much prefer longtime customers not slip away over a few bucks.

It seems a lot of the Nectar 3 update is getting the GUI to conform to O8/N2, as well as some functionality (meter taps and track assistant). When looking at MPS1->MPS2, it is a bit disheartening that the loyal customers aren't getting much benefit over other owners (and at some resellers get no benefit), especially when some of the products are already included in MPS1. I guess over the years I have paid more attention to the loyal customers getting no real advantage, and iZotope seems to have headed down that path. For a long time their polls were asking if I would pay just for Insight separately (always said no), and now it is a $199 plugin ($99 if you own Insight1), wow.

I use Insight every day, and love it. But I wouldn't pay $199 for it. I only have it at all because it came with Ozone Advanced, part of a $250 upgrade bundle. Nobody actually needs Insight. Every meter it includes can be had for free or cheap elsewhere.

Ugh, iZotope needs to revamp their marketing... I just got an email wanting feedback on my "Neutron 2 demo"??? Wasn't that release almost 2 years ago now?

I consistently get emails about things I already own, and deals sent often do not match what I qualify for.... Makes me wonder how many get snookered into buying the same thing twice.

I received the same email, most likely due to the purchase of the Music Production Suite 2,
which contains Neutron 2 Advanced.

Same here. I constantly get emails from iZotope about stuff I already own and not about the stuff I am interested in owning. They are actually missing out on potential profit here. Maybe their marketing department is run by ex contestants from The Apprentice.
