Ok Tap, Jimmy,,, the final mix...
I recorded a new bass part... again...
Bumped the piano and National slide...
Moved the harp and lead back a tad...

Hi, notnat,

Nice. I like this mix better than the one I listened to yesterday. I'm still very impressed with the playing by all concerned. As an aspiring blues guitarist, I'd still like to hear your beautiful guitar solos a bit more in the mix. You play such lovely stuff, I can't help but want to hear it more up-front in the mix of this song. But that's my only quibble with this new version. Really good job.

Bill

I used to troll on Halstead street in Chicago. That's the blues center of the world (I know, I know). Well, one of them. I never heard a group down there sound better than this. There is no fluff in this comment, no strokes for anyone just to do it. This the hottest blues on the radio right now!! Frank, your lead just made me shiver. Doesn't get any better than that. Jimmy, you sound like one of those old blues dudes. Your best vocal ever. IMHO. I'm goin' home to Chicago. Halstead St. is callin"! This song is done, no more mixes!!! You couldn't get it any better. Can you tell I'm pumped? Thanks, guys.

Very nice, Bluesville! Love the organ. The harp is good, I have a low tolerance for excessive blues harp vs. a good chromatic (Norton Buffalo), but this was tastefully done and I enjoyed it. The guitar work is top notch blues licks.

My only critique is the vocals need a little more presence. I've noticed this and seen some other comments on Jimmy's vocals, which are excellent by the way, but maybe you need a different mic or some eq compression on the track. You can sing on my CDs anytime!

This is good blues tune in a sea mediocre blues offerings.

Maybe a disclaimer is justified ..... Some may have already experienced all the Blues they can handle for a lifetime ...and the economy isn't helping much

Jimmy - very nicely done, a real laid back Clapton style vocal, good lyrics too. Top collab chaps.

Listening to the new mix Frank. To be honest, the 1st one sounded fine to me ( what can I say except me ears be old man..) and the 2nd listen is just as enjoyable. There's one note in your solo that you held with a nice vibrato, a really nice seasoned touch. There's a band in these parts called 'Blue In The Face' I used to go see in my bar days..fantastic! This tune reminds me of them. You and the Jimaestro done good. I love these collabs.

Frank

This was a tough one for me to listen to. (I'm on my second listen now).

I have been a bluesman all my life but have always played on an acoustic guitar. So this semester I decided to borrow enough money to get a decent (around $1000) electric one but with the economy the way it is, I decided to hold off on such a pricey purchase. Then I heard all of the great licks and went straight to the catalog to see which guitar I have to have.

Oh the temptation

Great work guys

Hey, Frank,

This is really outstanding! You did a killer job on this. Jimmy’s vocals are smooth and cool, the guitar leads are lively and tasty, and the harp is like ”gritty” icing on a cake. Great mix to boot!

Very nice!

Hey Frank,

This mix sounds smooth, and the bass tone is spot-on, which makes this a great groove. Excellent chops on guitar, as always. You and Jimmy made a great tune here.

BTW: "Daily Grind", "Ballad of Grover and Becky", and "Deere Tractor" - know why I'm mentioning them? I gave them all five stars, and I'm pretty sure I told you so.

Nice work. The harmonica is very nice indeed. One "minor" problem: the song is in a minor key, but the harmonica is played in second position, and the major third is obvious in a few places. Sonny Boy Williamson and Junior Wells did the same thing on occasion, so I guess it's not fatal, but something for the harp player to keep in mind next time.
