Nice work. The harmonica is very nice indeed. One "minor" problem: the song is in a minor key, but the harmonica is played in second position, and the major third is obvious in a few places. Sonny Boy Williamson and Junior Wells did the same thing on occasion, so I guess it's not fatal, but something for the harp player to keep in mind next time.

Regards, lightninrick

... It's the “blue note”... somewhere in between the minor and major 3rd...
That's what I'm going for...
I'm playing an “A” harp in the key of “E” (cross harp) and bending that major 3rd down to the “blue note”, or at least I'm attempting to...
anyway if it's good enough for Sonny Boy or Junior... it's good enough for me... they are the giants...

I really appreciate the feedback lightinrick... Thanks...
You must be a harp player too... with a handle like that...

Edit: ...I just checked out your music on taxi and I must defer...
You are truly a Mississippi saxophone master...
and I am your most humble harp hack...
This is great 5tuff Rick...

Yo Frank,

Senior level musicianship on display, here. Well recorded on top of that.

Nothing to add to what's been said already. Except: "Barkeep, bring me another Amstel Light, I'm staying awhile! I think this guy can play all night".

Cheers,

Bert

Frank
This was a tough one for me to listen to. (I'm on my second listen now).

I have been a bluesman all my life but have always played on an acoustic guitar. So this semester I decided to borrow enough money to get a decent (around $1000) electric one but with the economy the way it is, I decided to hold off on such a pricey purchase. Then I heard all of the great licks and went straight to the catalog to see which guitar I have to have.
Oh the temptation
Great work guys
Ron

Fight it... fight the urge... no good can come of it...

Hey, Frank,
This is really outstanding! You did a killer job on this. Jimmy’s vocals are smooth and cool, the guitar leads are lively and tasty, and the harp is like ”gritty” icing on a cake. Great mix to boot!
Very nice!
Bob

Thanks for the feedback Bob...

Hey Frank,
This mix sounds smooth, and the bass tone is spot-on, which makes this a great groove. Excellent chops on guitar, as always. You and Jimmy made a great tune here.

BTW: "Daily Grind", "Ballad of Grover and Becky", and "Deere Tractor" - know why I'm mentioning them? I gave them all five stars, and I'm pretty sure I told you so.

Douglas, I can't adequately express how much I appreciate your support and encouragement...

The other day our band's drummer, Lamar, booked a great paying gig, where we each made like $600 each... I'm going to tell you the same thing I told Lamar...
“I can never repay you”...
He didn't buy into that at all...

Absolutely brilliant I've played it now at least 5 times, this is what the blues is all about if you ask me KEEP IT UP!!!
Cheers
Mike

P.S. I would love to have an MP3 of it if possible

Thanks Mike...you'll have to talk to jimmyman about that... It's his song...

this is Notnat and Jimmyman. im jimmy
i wanted to give you a personal thanks because you said something
that does mean something to me. and thats working with frank
(notnat) things on this changed once it got started.

i wrote the tune and was to have frank play on it with me i allready
had the rythem tracks and all too. but something told me let frank
do it all so now all im doing is singing. everything else is him.

he makes fun about bogarting my production :-) well he did more
than that he took over. and he did such an impressive job. the
mix and production and all his playing is "class"

i couldnt be more happy about the result. thats the "coming
together" subject. im working on a tune for us now where ill
do everything and have him play on it. it aint coming together
so quickly though because im being picky about the production.

he set such a standerd in his works i gotta do a lotta
tweeking on mine to get it ready for the next piece where both
of us will jam. but i am exited about where its at right now. just
got more to do yet.

thanks

jimmy

I thought this tune had run its course, and would be on page 3 by now...
I've been out of the loop lately... I'm building a new room on my house, and remodeling my kitchen...
What a mess!
Thanks again everyone for your kind ears and words...

Nice work. I like the mix. Everything is clear a detailed. Nothing is overwhelming the mix. I love this type of blues.
