JRR Shop

So JRR Shop now only accepts payments with a PayPal account?  They still show all the usual credit card symbols at the bottom of the Shop page, but both links for payment now take you to the new PayPal login page, not the "pay as guest" page.

I despise evil PayPal with every fiber of my being and will under no circumstances do business with them.

I sent a note to JRR asking for help, but does anyone know how to order from them without PayPal?

Thanks

What's a good alternative to JRR that doesn't require PayPal?  Or at least uses PayPal Guest instead of requiring an account?

EveryPlugin usually has the lowest prices on everything,
and they take a credit card, as does AudioDeluxe...

Usually you can pay with a credit card from PayPal without having a PayPal account. In this case PayPal is just acting as the payment gateway more or less. A lot of online companies especially smaller companies are only offering PayPal lately because it's simple and reasonably priced. And customers can still use a credit card even without a PayPal account.

I just checked JRR and indeed there is no option except to checkout with a PayPal account. Not a great idea IMHO and I design eCommerce sites. There are plenty of people that do not want to create a PayPal account.

Google Wallet and Amazon Payments would be good to add if they don't want to deal with credit cards

That's what I'm saying - that has changed.  No more "Guest" or "No log in" option. You can't use a card without a PayPal account.  At least when I went through JRR.  I haven't looked to see if their portal has changed from other sites.

Hi everyone, this is Eric from JRR Shop. We have re-enabled credit card payments for software companies that support us over fraud issues. Hardware companies and many software companies DO NOT support us over fraud issues, so in those cases we still must require PayPal. Fortunately, Cakewalk is one of the companies who does support us and we'll be happy to accept credit card payments for Cakewalk orders.

Thanks Eric, for clearing that up.  Also, saw an e-mail from you guys about payment options and will be responding.  Thanks!
