JRRshop
I placed an order with JRR for Addictive Drums Custom following the advice of people on the board here. I set up an online account, paid via PayPal, printed out the order confirmation but never received an email confirmation from JRR. I assumed that as it was the weekend I would hear something on Monday. I've since tried to login to my JRR account, but my account doesn't exist. Tried a password recovery, but my email isn't recognized. I've since sent two emails to JRR with proof of purchase (PayPal payment went through and I have their online invoice)... Nothing. No response. Should I be worried or are they just very flaky? Has anyone else had problems with them?

I think so! One order i placed got forgotten and I had to email them but they got back to me ,apologized and delivered the order. That don't seem as efficient as some of the other companies in my experience but I believe them to be honest

I must admit, I'm getting a bit worried. I've emailed them twice, included documents and receipts, but got no reply. Is there some reason why they might be closed or not replying? If I don't hear back soon, I will have to open up a reclaim through PayPal.

Ok guys. I'm an arse. I admit it. I miss-typed my password when I setup the account, that's why I couldn't get into my account. (though why I couldn't do a password reset is a mystery to me). I found the product key in on my account and redeemed it at XLNAudio. For some reason it took a few tries, but worked in the end. Whew! I am now a happy man! I did get in contact with JRR via their Facebook fan section - why they didn't respond to emails and why I didn't get an email confirmation is still a bit of a mystery - something about problems with their email delivery. So, I apologise for any bad press I may have caused JRRShop. If I could delete this thread, I would. Sorry guys.

I have made several purchases from JRR, and they did me very well! I had a question about one of them which was a crossgrade, and I got a quick email response from 'Uncle E'. I had simply forgotten to submit the crossgrade qualification documents.

It's not very cool to bash a vendor, without giving any reason at all... JRR is legit, and will attempt to resolve any issue you have, if you have made reasonable effort to contact them with the details.

JRRshop is good. I've purchased a number of products from them without any problems, they even price matched a competitors lower price for Superior Drummer 3 (saved 40 bucks).

Walt, I tried sending emails but got no reply. However, when I went via their Facebook page and contacted them on their fan messaging site, I got a response quite sharpish. I don't know if that will help you or not, but it's worth giving it a go.

I agree and normally buy from them or B&H Photo. Andy Miller at Sweetwater is my go-to guy. Neither one had the product that JRRshop had so I made the mistake of going to them. Walt

The way I look at a discounter such as JRR is that I am getting a product that I want at rock bottom prices. If I get the product that I paid for, then the sale is done, and I am happy. I doubt that the JRR pricing structure allows room for any sort of product specialists. Having a personal sales rep comes with an additional cost. I think JRR is a very good choice if you already know exactly what you need, and just want to buy it. Otherwise those other options such as Sweetwater or B&H might be better if you have questions or need advice about a product.

I've always found JRR shop service to be very efficient and problem free, not to mention often having the lowest prices. I did have an issue during the holiday period recently where a purchase transaction went through twice (partly my fault) and my first thought that this was going to be a real PITA to sort out quickly given the time of year. I sent them an email late that evening (my time) and they responded and corrected the error the following day. Can't ask for more than that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I would like to add to the positive comments. One word of advice though. When setting up your JRRshop account, make sure you keep a note of your password, otherwise you may not be able to retrieve it. There does seem to be an issue with emails. I don't know if it is because I have a @hotmail.com account. Perhaps their email service provider blacklists it - I've had a similar issue with Native Instruments site, which seem to have blacklisted @hotmail addresses - this makes password resetting on the site impossible. Or it could be a bad design of the website. Either way, everytime I tried to retrieve the password, nothing came through to my email account, and ditto for the serial numbers for products that they sent me via email. Luckily the serial numbers are printed on your product page....if you can get into your account ;)
