JUST APPROXIMATELY :)

Does anyone in our amazing, Sonar community have a clue as to how many clients are signed up to Cakewalk Sonar ( all versions)  ...be it Subscription ( incl: Lifetime) OR Full Software Purchase (currently active ) .
In other words.....what is the number of public,  financial Stakeholders currently reliant on the continuity of this software ?
Cheers.....................Frank

There was a thread on this forum citing that when Roland sold to Gibson it was around 10 million products sold in one financial year.

10 million products sold does not mean 10 million customers not sure what the average product to customer ratio is but I would guess its at least 2 to 1 maybe 3 to 1 which would mean 3 to 5 million customers.

Even if you knew the exact sales figures, of what use would that be?

    Cakewalk has ceased trading.

I don't agree. Sonar has a huge user base. The abandonment of the product makes no sense. Even though I have purchased a Studio I've mixer/interface and have started learning Studio 1, I still think there's a good chance that Cakewalk gets adopted.
I had a very bad feeling when they offered lifetime updates. There is something about this whole situation that doesn't pass the smell test.

I doubt if there are millions, But there certainly are thousands judging by the responce Overloud got on their generous offer to unlock Sonar related products. They said they received over a 1,000 e mails in a few days so it was taking a long time to get back to folks. And those 1,000 could only be a small portion of those who were paying attention. My guess is most were not.
