Jamaica Plain Update - No Issues

I'm apprehensive about installing these updates after reading about some of the problems other users encounter, but I'm not experiencing any trouble.

I've updated twice - yesterday, and a few months ago when Dorchester was released.

I've updated every month so far. And not one problem. Even as a hobbyist I fire up SONAR and least 5 days a week. And, I work for a minimum of 2 hours at a time.

^^^^ Three ...

Also, along the way I have thoroughly exercised the update/rollback function in CCC.  Rollback works VERY well.  I have no problem updating right away because I know I can rollback quickly and easily.

Agreed. I rolled back twice to test out some (at the time) weirdness. Turns out I was the weirdness but the rollback process is tre cool.

This is one of the reasons some of us try to emphasize the stability of Platinum. If one reads the various forums on the internet no matter what the forum is for if it has anything to do with software the posts will be mostly about bugs and problems. If you go by what you read on forums its clear no one anywhere gets any work done using any software.

I stand by my original assertion that Sonar 2015 is the best Sonar CW has released ever. Also with the monthly updates if a bug does become a problem its likely it will be squashed in the next update.

Always remember a forum is bound to have an inordinate number of posters asking for help and reporting bugs.

Case in point I ran into a bug a while back that when I clicked on a buss in the CV to change a setting or add FX Sonar would just vanish, go away. This would mean all work up to that point that was not saved was also gone. It was reported here and the work around was to not click on a buss in the CV. It was fixed in X3 I think. But is was a really bad bug. As soon as CW figured it out it was fixed. Up till then we simply had to modify out work habits.

That was the only bug I have ever come across in Sonar that was a real issue for me. Did I yell and scream at CW or post sarcastic comments about it and everything else in Sonar? No, I reported it and it was looked into and fixed.

It is very important to understand that no developer wants bugs in their software. They do happen that is a fact that can never be avoided. CW has shown a willingness to confront bugs that are reported to them and fix them as soon as they can.

That is all anyone can rightfully expect.

Best

Looking at the Bug Fixed list that comes with every update, it seems to me that every update introduces one or two new issues, which get fixed before many notice them.
