*James's Love* *NEW MIX!!*

You're playing *with your mates* in a scottish small..symphony (in your best kilts).  A wind comes up and y'all start playing faster and faster in embarrassment.  (The woodwinds are supposed to represent bagpipes.)  Nits and crits welcome.  There's only one direction from here.... (EDIT: JUL 30, 2017  Don't listen to this mix, listen to the one that follows, please)

I don't get the description at all David, but this is a lovely piece, your best yet I think. I remember the opening couple of minutes from a previous piece you posted. I think it deserves a more fitting title.

    Well, I liked it.

The piano arpeggios were reminiscent (not a clone) of that Chicago song, you could have titled this My Colored World.

Regardless of who is chasing who around, and what they're wearing, this is a good piece of music. Mix-wise you are getting the hang of it. Not a kilt joke.

If there is a step wrong, I'd say it's the use of that famous piano arpeggio. Maybe muck it up a little so it's not a friggin' exact copy of Color My World. Don't kilt the originality. Yes, a kilt joke.

Unless you are paying homage, then anything goes.

    nice one, keep 'em coming!

A lot of Scottish traditional music is Pentatonic due to the limitations of the instruments used for it.

Well Irish, Welsh, Cornish and other Celtic nations did use this.

The current thing I am working on uses a Japanese Scale. Key of D. However the interval pitches for every octave differ slightly. Using the tuning in EastWest Holywood Strings and the MIDI tuning feature in Sonar I was able to snap to that scale.  Very convenient meaning I wouldn't have to carefully transpose it all manually or play it in that way which would just be as quick I suppose.

Alternate tunings have always frustrated me.  I used to perform classical guitar and do drop d and g tunings. I'm dyslexic and it took me awhile to get used to them.

Unfortunately I redid an old techno track...kind of having a go at improving stuff I done in the past. However some of the new sounds could be used in any genre crossover which is why I'll be offering the samples for download and MIDI. Obviously Sonar Platinum projects minus the plug-ins can be distributed also.

The only thing that's even remotely reminiscent of color my world is the first chord cmaj7.   The arpeggiation is a common continuo form from the baroque period which was *stolen* by classical composers like Beethoven and Schumann in the romantic period.  Harmonically, it's not even close to color my world.  :D:D

Yes now that is quite superb although the some of the sounds took me by surprise, I think the bass hits on the right channel. I think it's an improvement on your last version. I made a mock up of Adagio for Strings on my page which is mostly con sordino/legato phrases. Although it took a lot of samples to get the sound how it was.

    Anyway cheers.

Hey eph221, I love this! I think it's my favourite of your pieces so far. Lovely and evocative. My favourite section comes about three-quarters of the way through - I think it's the part someone else referred to as the Tom and Jerry section.
