If you learn how to use it, this is great software. It's what I start with now. No more looking through midi loops to get close to what I want. I can get the feel almost immediately.

Jamstix was one of the things I lost when my computer was stolen, and I miss it. Given that an upgrade from any previous version is just $49, I'm tempted to go ahead and get it again.

Never got into the auto-jam feature, even though that's its main selling point. Mostly, I used it as an alternate sound source, mainly its percussion pack for shakers, tambourines and such. It also had some nice dry kicks. It's actually pretty good just as an all-around drum sampler or sound source for layering under other drum libraries.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

For some songs I like the Jamstix sound. Other songs I run it to AD2.

I have the Jamcussion add on, but haven't used it much.

I just find it much easier to get the general feel of a song using Jamstix4. I can use the Bar editor to get the general beat going. Then with the swing settings get the feel right. I use that bar to make a new style and then select a drummer and let him play.

It really is worth taking the time to learn it. I am still learning new things about it. It really is very flexible with using other VSTi etc.

If your computer was stolen - have you reached out to Ralph? He is very reasonable and provides great customer service.

I think the potential on this thing is HUGE; but I just never really have hunkered down with it to learn it.  I guess I should!

piling on - I use Jamstix (still using 3, need to upgrade) all the time, but still feel like a novice. I too use the measure editor to get a basic rhythm and then use it as the basis for a style.

The included sounds are better than they have any right, but I still end up using Jamstix to drive Superior 2. What an amazing combo!

I do miss the direct integration between Jamstix and Superior.

I like the Jamstix 4 interface because it's easier for me to read.
Jamstix is a wonderful tool! Spent time playing with it cuz it's worth the effort.
