Jankie And The Method Man - featuring Daryl1968

Jankie and The Method Man

Jankie and The Method Man
© 2016 E. Kocol

Performed by Bapu & Daryl1968

Verse 1:
Working cons on the street, night after night
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t right
We’ve got to stop the cons, and get straight
Jankie said to Method Man, it’s not too late

Chorus:
Jankie and the Method Man were on the run
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t fun

Verse 2:
Then one night things went wrong, alarms did sound
Jankie said to Method Man, we’ve been found
The judge gave them five long years, to set things right
Jankie said to Method Man, oh what a fright

Chorus:
Jankie and the Method Man they could not run
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t fun

Breakdown:

Repeat Chorus:
Jankie and the Method Man they could not run
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t fun

Verse 3:
Then the Man, he had a plan, to set them free
Jankie said to Method Man, we’re gonna flee?
They scaled those old prison walls, on a gloomy night
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t right

Chorus:
Jankie and the Method Man were on the run
Jankie said to Method Man, this ain’t fun

Jankie and the Method Man were on the run
Jankie said to Method Man, this is dumb

Jankie and the Method Man were on the run
Jankie said to Method Man, I ain’t havin’ fun

Jankie and the Method Man were on the run
Jankie heard the Method Man say, oh boy ain’t this fun

Interesting...different from what I usually hear from yous guys...

    My only nit:
    • kit should really be using brushes.

Overall mix is very good, as to be expected from the two of you. Vocals are clear as are all of the instruments.

Yes a little different for you, vocals are clear but I can hear some sibilance on some of the vocals.  The mix overall worked here, nice job guys.

Umm.... I'm not really sure what that was, but it certainly was a bit different for y'all!

It's got the right vibe for the job IMO (though brushes would be cool).  Mix is clear, everything has a place.   I guess overall you could say it doesn't sound Jankie, if you know what I mean.

It is nice that you two fine fellas like to experiment around with your music
Having said that , you two gents need to seek help fast ..LOL just kidding around …

I'm into quirky music and it is a place I like to go …
I did enjoy the tune , my only crit is it sounded a little modern around the edges …
( some of the instruments )
I may have went a little more old time on the feel and used spoons . Kazoo , mando and stuff like a washtub bass ..
a possible future bass rig for this type of music

have a good one , I did enjoy it ,

You really have huge variation of music styles! I always loved the 2/4-beat and here it is in a really fun song. Enjoyed it!

And I liked the vocals in this one, it sits perfect in the mix. Great work, Ed (and Daryl)!
