I think a lot of people make some sort of correlation between forum join date and length of time using Sonar.

That may have some loose connection but certainly not for everyone. Personally I'd been using Sonar for 6 years before I joined and I'm sure there must be thousands of users who use it daily but don't come here.

Some people have lives.....

Obviously I'm not one of them.......

Seems to me a waste of time to respond to a thread you have no interest in - just saying. :)

You've wasted more time than I did with your response.

Ah grasshopper, but you would note, if you had read my entire response, I did not think it was a waste of time to respond to your post, as surfing this forum, is not exactly what I would call "productive" time.  ;)  Typing a response is never a waste of time since it's an active choice to take action - free will and all.

Post the date when you joined the forum with your user name in chronological order.

How do you factor in that these forums were previously NewsGroups... and CompuServ forums before that?

That's gotta take some of us back to the 90s

I was on the old newsgroup. I was a bit unhappy when CW went to the web. But I did join early on. I was not the very first but very close.

This thread is a little odd to me because all join dates are listed on every post.

As to post count. It only matters if the posts are of a high quality. I have seen new members post great posts and long time members post crap. A lot of crap still equals crap.

One should judge posts on how good the post is and nothing more.

I have been around here since the old newsgroups. In fact I joined the group before I bought CW Professional 6. I didn't even know how I was going to get sound recorded with this new PC I bought. But I knew others were doing it and it was like having my own studio at home. I wanted that and the kind people here taught me how to.

I also at first didn't like the new web forums so I didn't sign back up till Sonar 5. And found out a lot of what I had missed.

I am still amazed at what I can do with my setup.  And much pleased about the price of admission!!

This user name is from my Cakewalk Guitar Studio days. I gave up on DAW software  and went back to my Atari. I bought Sonar 7 and tried to retrieve my account, Gave up so I created JohnnyV , I have now lost him somewhere and eventually after 30 tries hacked into this account again.
Johnnyv had a higher post count because he was studying all things Sonar at the time so had lots to say. Most of it wrong.

I "officially" joined in Feb. 2011 ~

but I've been "tinkering" with Cakewalk software for quite a while!
(As in, the first version I had showed up on 3.5" diskettes!)

Same here. I thought I remembered that I had resisted for quite a while before accepting the switch to web based forums and finally joining here. But it looks like it was only a few days...

I have had Cakewalk/Sonar since it was on Windows 3.1.

Daryl1968 likes monkeys and kittens too.

Bapu, I don't guess it matters, but I have no idea what your reply means.  I thought this thread was about how long we have used Cakewalk and/or the forum.

Just a cr@p post. You'd have to know Daryl1968 to appreciate the total cr@pness of the reply.

We seem to have the same sensibilities. This is not the first time we see things in the same way.

I don't know if that is good or bad.  For you I mean. LOL
