Just Like A Woman
Just when I thought I had everything under control I get an e-mail from the sax player to learn ASAP the following tunes. Jane – Jefferson Starship Heard it through the grape vine – Jessica Mauboy Cowboy Casanova – Carrie Underwood Renegade – Styx Straight on for You – Heart I Love Rock n Roll – Joan Jett Open Arms – Journey The Warrior – Scandal First Cut is the Deepest – Cheryl Crow Never – Heart (lower the key possibly..undecided) Underneath It All – No Doubt Not that I Am complaining but I suspect some of these are NOT in Am! Besides we already have over 60 tunes. This means I'll only have 1 and 1/2 minutes to play Mustang Sally and Brown Eyed Girl on the next gig! And who's Jessica Mauboy anyway?

I don't know all of those, but that list looks like a lot of fun, yet fairly simple, songs. It shouldn't take you more than a little of your time AND a couple of personal visits by the sax player (to fine tune things).
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

If you are going to cover a cover of "I Heard it Through the Grape Vine" then it should be the CCR version, but that won't leave you much time for anything else.

Dear Bill, As it turns out, I know all of those songs and the 3 chords required to play them. I have contacted your other band members and advised them of this. I will be taking your place from now on. Please understand this is just business, and nothing personal. Randy

Thanks Randy! Now I can resume devoting my time to remaking and eating all this fudge I made! All I could come up with was an Am chord anyway. P.S. I only made the fudge cuz I didn't have anything to go with the fish I made

I thought it fish & chips--not fish & fudge. Wait, you may be onto something. You need to have your own cooking show, Bill.

I'm trying to visualize a live situation where the Sax would actually do justice for that list, I'm imagining a real train wreck for some of them. kinda like the "Lounge" singers of old with over vibrato-ed vocals and the electric piano with an analog drum machine I guess.

CT I also put in banjo and accordion in all the tunes! I also have to play all songs on the accordion in Am mostly cuz I can't see the black keys in the dark. And why do we have to play in the dark? And why do I have to play banjo with my teeth? And why does she look at me like that with that sax in her mouth?

Hey I'm with you on the Banjo, being a bluegrass picker myself if we did that list it would definitively be in there somewhere. As for the accordion, that i reserve for a Conjunta band with Tex-Mex and Nortena's Good luck with the Vaudeville act.
