Just So You Know

OK, I'm new here
When I write a review I listen to a song at least three times
I have learned one thing
There are many talented sorts around here
Just so you know I'm working at it
I share my first piece
I probably wont post many more links

I consider myself transparent matter

I hope to do at least one review a week

My critique of this piece is that it is a little "boxy" sounding.  I have not mixed it yet to my idea, but my life is going to change hard in the next couple of days, so I wanted to leave something.

This might not work, the link I mean, I newwwbieeeeeee

Weird, but I like. Interesting meandering vocal melody.  Looking forward to hearing it mixed

Hmm, two weirds, I guess you got to start somewhere!  And one weird from Mr. Bapu no less.

I knew my style was a little different than most posters.

Thanks for the listens.  It feels good to know at least two other people listened to my song besides me and the walls.

I like this place, I think I'll stick around.

As long as it wasn't a mish mash of low end rumble mud I'll consider it a step in the right direction.

Thanks a lot.  I'm pumped to get in a few more reviews in for others, and then drop another creation onto the world stage.

Interesting, and not a little disturbing. Like the ghost of Frank Zappa appearing in an Eels session.

I like it.......it's different, musical, and interesting. Would love to hear you mix this Jesse....it would give some good clarity in bringing out this tune's effectiveness. I might be going on a limb here, but your voice sounded a bit of Donald Fagen'esque style.....in a very good way. :))

Very original and creative!  Synth/keys work is fantastic, could listen to that for hours.  The vocals are ok, a little too muddy in the mix imo.  I'd prefer a more melodic vocal, instead of rap/spoken vocal with some singing here/there.  impressive!

Hello Kind Sirs, Mr. James, Mr. Mesh, and Mr. Mike,

    Thank you for the comments.
I greatly appreciate the fact that you took the time to share your thoughts and ideas.

I laughed heartily at the Frank Zappa/Eels comment.  I think that gets close to the matter at hand, and you did notice the disturbing aspect..

I’m not too familiar with Donald Fagen so I am excited to check out some of his stuff.  Any suggestions?

Mr. Mike, I will see what I can do about the vocals and the mud.  I’m not sure if I have a melodic bone in my body, so I will have to practice that some more.  I guess for right now it will have to be my “style.”

So, good luck with all your projects.  I hope you all find the time to create and present.
And thanks again for taking the time out of your busy schedules.

    Jesse
