Just To Love You More (Remix)

The same link works..... I made a few new edits.
fixed missed note in beginning..... edit on lyrics, fixed missed vocal thing..... also worked some levels a bit....  OK.... that's it.... it's done. (I think)

Another quick write experiment with Bishop/Hartley.

I wrote the core idea and melody and 6 lines of lyric in about 15 minutes and sent it to Pat.  I started recording and worked on it the next day a bit.... laid final vox tweeks and acoustics on it this morning.  A total of just slightly more then 24 hrs start to finish.

The song is a love song. You might expect to hear this played at a wedding, and very likely the one the bride & groom will slow dance to.

Congrats to Rain! May you both enjoy growing old together.

Timidi:   Yeah, I can't say I disagree with that assessment.  There was an urgent request for "wedding/love" songs... the kind that might make you gag....  their words exactly.... for a major producer of a new reality TV show... so, that was my offering to that opportunity.... I wanted something that might cause the ladies to get teary eyed....

Now watch Karen & Janet chime in that it gags them up too.

Herb, It is pretty hokey which means it will probably become an instant classic and be played at weddings around the world. I could hear John Michael Montgomery singing this one... He had a few hits along these lines...both country and cross-over pop. I liked it. Very nice work. Regards

Mark.... I was thinking that same thing.... With the right singer, it could become one of those songs that every band who plays weddings comes to hate with a passion.....

also along the lines of Swinging, Achey Breaky Heart, and wipeout....

So I need to find the artist, willing to sell their soul, to record this, so that they, and we, can gag all the way to the bank.....

I'm not gagging, but I imagine some would.  :) This is real nice.  I hope it becomes a hit, Herb.

But if it does, I'll wish I'd played on it.  Although I would have put it over the 24 hour limit!  lol

    Hi Herb,

Nice tune...I guess it is hokey but I have no problem with that at all.

Here's hoping it becomes the 'Color My World' of the new millenium

Nice sound on the acoustic guitars, too.

    Hey, Herb,

    This is really fantastic, buddy!

Excellent songwriting and arrangement for the classic standard ballad genre, the acoustic guitar sounds rich and textured, and your vocals are perfect for modern crossover country.  It's been proven time and time again, sappy romantic ballads have made many millionaires over the past few decades, and this is really up there with some of the best I've heard.

Wonderful ballad and great modern sounding mix!

Well, love songs are hokie, but it's a better world with them.  This is beautifully done.  I wrote songs for  my daughter's and son's weddings.  By the time I had played them hundreds of times I thought they wer mega hokie.  When I played them at the weddings the hoke was gone!  Wonderful job on this, Herb.  Nice production and the vocal is great!

It's a pretty song, I actually have almost the same chord progression on one of mine. You may want to try another singer for this one. I like you as a singer, but this one's not in your wheelhouse IMO.

Forget the napkins, just give each guest a dozen boxes of tissues! Cue the cellos and the violins and ensure the Bride is using water-proof makeup! It may be hokey, but this is top quality hokey and set to be THE must-be-played song for every wedding. Dang, I wish I had have written it! I do not envy you the millions that will pour into your bank account - much!

yep, it's perfect for what you intended. a couple of duff notes in the opening acoustic, which you should probably fix. also, a couple of off-key moments in the vox, which i have NEVER heard from you before! instantly classic, familiar and therefore brilliantly written, Herb

Love the acoustic guitar, nice song.   You have a way with lyrics.

This is just my mix opinion. I think it would sound better with vocal down alittle.
Just a few db's.   I'm bad about mix'in vocals real hot, up front...... and your vocal on this
seems real hot<~~~~loud .     I think it sounds great, good mix but,  maybe just less verb
would bring it down.     Hell, I don't know nothing<~~~LOL

Scoobie: thanks....yeah I considered that when mixing it.... I listen to all my tunes on my MP3 player to see where they stack up. The vox are not "over the top" loud so I decided to leave them.

Several of my tunes have been "vox too far up front"  and I have remixed lower.

Also thanks on the compliment on the lyrics. Pat, the lady I co-write with, is the real force behind the lyrical parts of many of the songs I write. I sent her 6 lines of lyric and she wrote this from that. I have even just sent her an idea for a song and she has come back with some amazing things.

Not enough can be said for having a good co-writing partner who is in tune with you.

ooops.... sorry.... missed commenting on this one.... glad you like the song.... as far as another singer..... well, this was submitted to a TAXI listing with an extremely short turn around time and there wasn't time to call you to sing it for me..... maybe next time. I was actually still writing this lyrically  and had not yet recorded the vocal track and there were less then 3 hrs left until the deadline.  As is often the case in the URGENT REQUESTS FOR A SONG..... with close deadlines, I have to do what I have to do to get it in on time.

Well played and recorded as usual Herb, v ery nice acoustic sound. I can't help thinking it's sailing very close to '..And I Love You So' though..

Have to agree with Robby about the vocal, maybe a lower key would suit you better?
