Just a thanks!

Just a public thanks to Larry for posting new and on-sale products. We all have wish-lists and obviously would like to take advantage of sales and/or are waiting for a particular product release. It takes quite a bit of google grunging and many vendor email subscriptions to to keep on top of it all.

Keep up the good work!

Knowing that it also helps students will make it that much MORE worth while...
I also track "edu" discounts...so maybe I should start posting those too..

I can see if I qualify but since I am not instructing at a school I probably don't.  I do private tutoring for video production and photoshop and I work with teens at a community center where we have a studio.

I sent them an email and a link to our website.  We are trying to expand our resources since we have very limited funds.  We currently use Logic, FL Studio and Garage band is also available. We also have a recording booth also. Right now it mostly attracts the hip-hop crowd (although we have had a a few talented musicians stop in too) but we are hoping to get more diversity in musical styles.  I have a couple people wanting to come in and do some gospel/praise and worship songs.  In any case, your posts have been a big help!

    Larry, I'm of two minds.

I'm fully in agreement with the thread posted at the beginning of the year to have Cakewalk remove the Software section of the forum altogether.  Saying that from the vantage-point of trying to protect my very small budget.

But on the other hand, I'm keenly appreciative of your posts and have ended up either taking advantage of some of the great free stuff you've pointed out, or being sucked into the timely deals that either you or someone else have pointed out because they are irresistible.

On balance, I would say I've had few regrets from any purchases or downloads I've made after following up on tips from you and other folks here in this section .  Mostly I use what I pick up from these software adds, and the worst part is the pain of coming up with the funds at the time to make the purchase.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Lawa, I hear what you're saying...

That's part of our COPD (Compulsive-Obsessive Plugin Disorder)

BUT, to be fair, it's ultimately UP TO US.  Is it fair to stifle EVERYONE because we
are GAS week?  I, personally, don't think so.

It's about self control....and seriously asking ourselves "Do We Really NEED it?"
If you buy it...then that's on you...I don't see how removing the forum will help
anyone...as, if you are that COPD...then you'll just go over to KVR and CAVE V R in!!!

I'm just trying to help those who are looking for "That thing" to get that they need...
and as CHEAPLY as possible...just think of what they would spend otherwise
and you'd really see the BIG PICTURE...LOL

    Larry,

I'm just joshing.  I really appreciate the info here.  If my wallet could speak, it would be complaining.  But one of the reasons I'm on the forum almost daily is to see what's breaking news here.  So thanks mightily for what you do.
