Just had a thought...

...imagine that. But it was that on most all my other devices I just stay logged in. So when I come back to the forums I'm already up and running. Perhaps this is why I can't log in or, as of today, see the Coffee House as an option on my laptop...because I'm already logged in on other devices. SO....later tonight I'll log off on my iPad. And tomorrow I'll log off on all my other studio boxes. Then I'll see if I can log in on the laptop. Risky, I know as the downside is I may not be able to log in again...period. But foah tha sake of the childrun and tha futah...ahm willin to risk forum life an limb and boldly go where only numbskulls have gone befoah!!!

But...if you don't hear from me for awhile...you'll know I ****ed up.

I seem to recall having a thought once, but I believe I traded it for cookie.

Welp...still can't log in or see the Coffee House from the lappy.  But, natch, can still log in from anywhere else.  Whew!

I did notice in my sleuthing that there are many protocols in my windows firewall...some of which are checked, meaning OK, and many that aren't.  Wonder if there is a specific one I need to check for this site.  Have emailed Willy but either he gets a ton of emails or has the slowest email on earth as it usually takes a few days to hear back from him as we email back and forth.

Are you using the same browser on all systems?

AFAIK, if the cookie named Cakewalk-SSO is good you are/stay signed in.

If deleting it and Ctrl-F5 (ignore cache and force reload) doesn't work, maybe you can try copying that cookie from a working system and then Ctrl-F5.

I don't have a cookie named that on my DAW which can log in.  I've got several that are in sort of email form, ie name @ place.com which includes references to Cakewalk...but they are also on the laptop which won't log in.
    But nothing that says Cakewalk-SSO

    What browser?

I have the cookie for Cakewalk-SSO in 3 different browsers and that is definitely the Single Sign On cookie that is set when you are logged in.

    IE 10

I did find a couple of html docs that were login and logoff for cakewalk and tried to copy them into the lappy but it won't let me paste them into the cookies folder.

I went and looked again and in Tools/Internet Options/ browser history/ settings/ view files/ or so where the cookies show up there is no Cakewalk-SSO that I can find.

OK, IE makes it more difficult.

On my system it's a 937 byte text file cookie that starts with "ASPPG.ASPPGSession" and "Cakewalk-SSO" only appears 3/4 of the way through the gibberish.

I suggest searching file contents for Cakewalk-SSO in the Cookie directory.

If I find it at all, how do I get it into my lappys cookie folder when It won't let me paste or control-V anything??

And thanks Drew, for helping me with this.  I sincerely appreciate it.

Nope...no such animal in the folder I'm looking in. What folder are you looking in??
I mean the one on my DAW that I CAN log in from.

On my Win8.1 machine, the IE cookie is in:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCookies\Low\

According to Google, for Win7 it's in:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\Low

I don't why you wouldn't be able to paste there, as permissions are open for the user on mine.

When you find the proper directory, if Windows search isn't set up to search the file contents (I turn off indexing and that stuff on everything) for Win7 or earlier you can open a command prompt and do :

    find "Cakewalk-SSO" *|more

Win8.1 let's you search file contents in File Explorer using Search Tools->Advanced_Options

That's really odd - in IE it definitely creates that cookie when I log in here, and if I delete that single cookie and restart IE I am no longer logged in.

But I found that restoring the cookie didn't log me back in, so the copying idea wouldn't work anyway.

Are you sure you're not blocking or restricting Cakewalk's cookies or javascript or something?
