Just love that z3ta+2
Gotta say it from time to time. Great synth. One of the best.

Agreed, except I would say that a lot of the presets sound outdated (think 90's dance music). This and Massive are my go-to synths for quick sound design because their interfaces are just so logical and intuitive.

have never liked it, myself. Not sure why so many rave about it, I have very little use for it. Of course, I do not do EDM or other dance music, so that may be why....

3rd party presets suck. They are way too loud. Arpeggiater is meh. I need to play with it more and that often changes perspective. I got Sylenth over Xmas. Easy synth to mess with.

Fleer What do you think about those Mutant patches?
I love Z3ta and most of the time easily get lost in going through the Factory/other presets (I'm by no means a sound designer........just a happy tweaker). Last night I checked out the Free Mutant patches pack which I got sometime back (about a dozen presets), and thought they were closer to sound fx (possibly the Mutant series is geared more for EDM??). They were a bit wacky sounding and only a couple seemed musically pleasant and I don't know how good the full sound pack might be. However, Xeno's sound packs are very good and useful.....cheap too. :)) Z3ta is a fantastic synth and possibly not for everyone, but I'm glad this was included in Sonar as I would've definitely purchased it if it wasn't.

I agree. It's really fun to play with the settings and hear what happens. Initially, I found it pointless, but after some fiddling, I'm beginning to like it.

Definitely with you on the presets being way too loud. But I find that with the factory presets most of all. I just can't understand the mentality behind cranking the gain all the way up on a preset to the point where it clips and they have to enable the limiter. Whomever was responsible for that needs "retraining"..... And yes, the arpeggiator is kinda sucky, but it's ok for the usual up/down affair. The only 3rd party presets I have installed are the "Vintage 70's and 80's" pack, which are actually very good. I use them all the time.

Its a very good synth. The presets are mostly yuck however so its a case of programing from scratch.
The waveshaping and modulation options I features I dreamed about when I used analogue synths.
