Just lovin' these editing tools but one question.

I've just spent the last couple of hours editing some guitar tracks, comping, envelope and timing issues mainly and these new tools really make sense - to me at least. They've made it much quicker by being able to do all three more-or-less at the same time, in one pass, switching real quick.

I've also discovered that not only does just holding down F10 temporarily switch me to the mute tool but the isolation mode works on a temporary basis as well. Release both F10+Ctrl puts me straight back to the smart tool.

Maybe I was just missing something obvious in previous versions but switching from Audiosnap to comping was a real pain and then in envelope mode I'd quite often move a clip accidentally. Now it's literally all one shift click away with no danger of moving one of my clips when moving nodes. Switching to Audiosnap is far easier too but.........

..........the only real 'complaint' I have is I can't seem to shift+click to get to audio transients instantly, I'm having to use the HUD to switch instead. Anyone know if it's possible to shift+click to select audio transients in the same way it is to get to clips and envelopes?

That'll make it perfect...........

Good question FBB but I don't have an answer nor a technique. Does switching the key 'A' get it done? I know that will turn on Audio Snap but I don't know about the transients, and I haven't check key bindings. Wow look at that - I didn't help at all - again. lol

When I'm back at my DAW I'll check it out.

Not sure but have you checked keybindings in preferences to see if you can assign one to it?

You can assign the keybinding to the following function... AudioSnap Show Transient Markers.

Then select the clip and press the keybinding to toggle the markers on/off.

Thanks Scott and others the keybinding should do it.

I have a key binding for the Audio Snap palette and thought that would automatically switch to Audio Transients which it doesn't. The show transient markers should work though. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, it shows the transients but doesn't switch the Edit Filter right away. If you make a change to the clip (like move it or add a fade, etc.) then the Edit Filter changes to Audio Transients after that. Must be an odd bug...

Yep you're right Scott. It shows the transients but doesn't switch the edit filter. Never mind pressing 'T' for the HUD is no real hardship just be even quicker with shift click or shortcut.
