Just purchased Me-50 Boss pedal w/ Sonar 8.5

I guess the pedal actually works as a interface for the guitar, Previously I was recording my music with a digitech GNX4 and Pro tracks plus as the DAW, So im hoping this will be a better setup. Its going to be about 2 weeks before I receive my package, what do you guys recommend I read up on until then? Is it pretty user friendly?

I think you can download the manual and check out the ME-25's operation and how to change settings and how to use the sound library.
The most important thing is to download and install the latest ASIO drivers for the BOSS (for your system) when it arrives.

Thanks Bud I appreciate your response! This is really similiar to the Pro Tracks Plus program I used with my GNX4 a few years ago. I had to upgrade my computer and get asio4all.  I just have a stock realtek HD soundcard in my desktop.

The only down side to this pedal is only 1 guitar input connection, I need to buy a mixer or an interface now to use my keyboard and condenser mic :(

If you have ASIO4All on the computer you're going to plug the BOSS into, delete ASIO4All from that computer before installing the true ASIO drivers from BOSS.
Since the BOSS can act as an audio interface, I think you just need a small mixer with phantom power (for the condenser mic). Plug everything into the mixer; plug the mixer into the pedal; pedal/USB to computer.

Oh ok, I just deleted my ASIO4all files. Im assuming the Boss Me-25 comes with a driver disc or goes over the operation.

my next buy is going to be a mixer! The Me-25 Only has one input for guitar and two outputs, would the mixer hook into the output?    I see this is a pretty limited interface, connection wise.

Looking at the BOSS and thinking about the limited inputs, it might be better to buy an audio interface with more input options than the BOSS has, and not get a mixer.
I'd be worried that the output voltages and impedance of a mixer might not match the input of the BOSS, resulting in distorted signals or no signal at all. Possibly damage to equipment, too.
A thorough check of those stats of the BOSS and a mixer may be in order.

I understand what you are saying, I have a M-audio fast track MK2 interface coming in the mail as well. But my last interface broke So I have no guitar effects just direct plug in, which Im not really into (why I also got the Boss pedal), ill play around with it and see if both are worth keeping :) I would really only need a mixer for I guess mic'ing my drums up down the road, so much gear out there! lol

    Gotta love return policy! haha
