Just received shipment of my new speakers but...

can't hear out of my left ear and only 50% out of my right due to head cold going on 3 weeks!  Can you believe it?  I have been so looking forward to trying out these monitors and best I can do now is see if the Doc can help me today so when I go home I can set these up and see how they are.
With my luck, I still won't be able to hear well for a while.

What?

Your studio is on a field?

No wonder you can't hear half of it.

    Stack one atop the other.

You get a 3 to 6 dB boost in SPL and the glory of mono.

    Yeah man!!!

Mega bummer.... Guess I missed a thread so I'll ask which ones did you get? I picked some KRK Rockit 8's back in November (after selling my JBL4410's) and I'm pretty dam!ed happy with them. Get well. Carry on....

Thanks Ed and Qualzelar.  Not having my hearing at 100% is derailing!

Quazelar, I bought the Equador D5's.  Check out the thread in Hardware.  I set them up last night and they need some time to breakin.  I am going to give them a week and then get a new song mix done and post it to see what everyone thinks.

    No Not at all.

I made the joke about stacking the speakers.

Jonbouy made a joke about turning your head sideways so that they were vertically stereo.

I made a joke about laying in a hammock to facilitate turning my head sideways and listening to the mono stack in *vertical* stereo.

Just a bunch of bad jokes!!!

I hope you get well soon too. It seems like I've heard of more folks having colds that effect thier ears more often this fall thru spring than I recall in the past and it made me wonder if there is a specific strain floating around. I had it last fall and ended up at the ear nose and throat guys to get some help. It drove me nuts and made work really hard for a month and a half.

    all the best,
    mike

Thx Mike.  I am already nuts now!  I commented on some mixes in the forum that they were not centered!  Yikes!

Could be meant to be duct tape over the mouth, could be one of those breath masks, could be an artistic TP dispenser or, maybe, someone who just realized they're out of becan?
