I agree with you John. It really made me drool! It has all the things I have imagined for a complete DAW where nothing else is needed. The PC FX Chains - I mean, seriously??? That is absolutely amazing! Not to mention the awesomeness of Take Lanes.

Did you get a glimpse of the Staff View in X2?  Any SV UI enhancements at all?

I like what I saw but I honestly can't say that I was blown away though.

add any effect to Pro Channel; That's worth $99 right there!

Yes I did get a glimpse. No I did not notice any change however it has had some minor attention.

I like everything I saw. It just got better and better with each revelation. I have been asking for auto zoom for ever and now they did it! I like it all though. I can't believe the news about PC. That is a jaw dropper.

I'm in a state of shock! We have a lot to look forward to.

As I do basically nothing with MIDI, there wasn't much in the webinar for me.   I do like the new Pro Channel features, though.

Yes indeedy. I think X2 makes the effort to shift to X1 (from 8.5.3) completely worthwhile. It appears to me that CW is leveraging the redesign in very creative and helpful ways. The integration of FX Chains into the Pro Channel is awesome.

Excellent webinar also. Brandon and Ryan deserve some kudos for the effort (imo).

BUT, I don't want to miss out on the DSF freebie - so how do I reconcile that?

in the same boat, as I'd rather keep my local DV shop getting money also.. the pricing doesn't show on their site either and maybe there will be a lag between the boxed and d/l thing.

What to do......................

Massive improvements to things that have bugged me for years. I already like X1 but X2 Producer for $99 is a total no-brainer. The now time focus (or whatever it is called), improved midi timing, PC FX chains, take/automation lanes (plus the added area for notes about takes), auto track view expansion and so many other under-the-hood workflow tweaks is making X2 look promising. Very promising. Not to mention the Console Emulation, updated Linear Phase EQ & Multiband Compressor, plus the full version of Rapture. Wow! Been with Cakewalk since ProAudio 5 and this looks to the best update I've seen from Cakewalk yet. Sonar X has indeed matured very quickly. Great job Cakewalk! P.S. I stopped regularly doing midi in Sonar a long time but now I just might be back. The new midi editing enhancements look great. For audio work Sonar has always led the pack and I see X2 extending that lead to a greater margin. T.

Sadly, thanks to poor broadband out here in the sticks, I missed most of it.
 
What did they have to say about the console emulation?  What did people think of it?  I know it's subjective, I'm not looking for a "It had a two dB boost between 98 and 622.25 Hz and a 4dB cut between 1.046KHz and 3.135KHz", just your impression.
 
Loved the PC FX chains, from what little I saw.
 
How did the BReverb look/sound?

Sorry I missed the webinar. I am looking forward to seeing it when it is posted up later on. Sounds like midi was greatly improved which I would love. I am looking forward to seeing the ProChannel effects chain integration. That alone is worth the price of admission to me.

I like the general idea of getting the strings for Dimension Pro but just don't see how it would be useful since I have Kirk Hunter's string libraries already. Anyone care to comment that has both?

The strings aren't bad but I'm spoiled. I already have East West's Symphonic Orchestra Gold Complete program which has awesome strings in it, so I'd probably still use that. If you need a string sample program these aren't bad for free.

Well I was reading on another thread that they sounded like a DX-7! That would definitely not work well for me. I don't even use Dim Pro anyway. I would rather have an additional cash discount but at least they are making a gesture.
