I reckon watching that plug-in could bring on epilepsy. Plug-ins are great nowadays.

Not sure if I'm on sound ground, but I'm thinking if used in a subtle way it might be very effective at removing unwanted room sound. Possibly more useful restoring poorly recorded basement tapes. Maybe wishful thinking but I'm wondering if it can enhance a less than perfect acoustic environment for recording? Possibly a hair brained notion I get them from time to time

Er...this is NOT for controlling reverb in unfinished, as yet mastered mixes. This is for removing, mitigating and controlling ambience and reverb in ALREADY finished and printed mixes. This is for taking any stereo mix of any record from the past (yours or anyone elses) and removing, mitigating or controlling the already mixed in reverb. This, like Melodyne's DNA, is the devils work (buwaha!!!) not some doofusey tool for "turning down your reverb" when mixing your latest magnum opus. But I'm sure you understand that.

It is NOT just a transient shaper as TheSteven has incorrectly stated. It is way more than that. It might sound a bit like that as after pulling excessive reverb out from say drum stems etc then the transients might become clearer. A transient shaper will not lower reverb no matter what you do. This is very interesting plugin. There is something similar in 'The Masterpiece' here from the guys at Legendary Audio: http://www.legendaryaudio.com/ This is probably the best mastering processor in the world but it is only a matter of time before all the stages of it are modeled perfectly. You can lower total reverb in mixes that a little too wet but this comes at a serious price. This plugin (Zynpatiq) is just another fine example of how complex and powerful digital plugins can be. I have got some incredible samples for Kurzweil K2000 of a Russian orchestra on a CD ROM. They are all amazing except they are all recorded in a situation that is just a little too wet for my liking reverb wise and I have not been able to use them (a lot) as a result. Now this plugin could change all that and allow me to get in there and make things sound closer and a little less reverberated. Amazing!

> A transient shaper will not lower reverb no matter what you do. You must be thinking of something else because a transient shaper, and in this case the TS-64, definitely can do that. From Electronic Musician http://www.emusician.com/article/137333 review of the TS-64 My own projects often suffer from drum tracks that are too wet or washed in reverb. In those instances, I find myself nudging the Attack knob toward Fast, the Weight knob toward Thin, and the Decay knob toward Dry. The mush goes away immediately, and I'm left with drum tracks that stand out clearly in the mix. >This is probably the best mastering processor in the world Common. Really? In my experience these things may work on an individual track or instrument but are worthless if you try to apply them to a whole mix unless the mix is extremely sparse. So sorry, no. IMHO as a mastering tool the Slate Digital FG-X Virtual Mastering Processor kicks this thing's butt and cost less. Maybe the Zynatiq can do a better job with a particular feature or function than the TS-64, but I'd sure want to do a side-by-side comparison before laying down my money. I actually think it would be great if the Zynatiq was a significant improvement on the TS-64's - but I've seen nothing so far to show that. Edit: The Zynatiq does have an 'inverse' button that the TS-64 lacks.
