Karl Rose Sonar X3 Tutorials- Where can I buy this on Cakewalk?

A few years back I purchased a Tutorial package from Cakewalk shop, it was done by Karl Rose and it was about 15 videos for about $15. I can't seem to find where to buy it again on Cakewalk shop now. I see many other videos but not that one. Does anyone know if that is still available with Cakewalk?

Karl Rose is actually FastBikerBoy in the forums.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ReallyFastBikerBoy has a number of tutorial videos for Sonar - I took a quick look and saw several for X1, and there may well be X3 ones posted there as well, if you want to go check it out.

Karl is also (or at least was at one point - one never knows how up to date web pages are), an author for https://streamworksaudio.com/author/karl-rose/

I literally just did a quick Google search for: 'Karl Rose Sonar X3' and got zillions of results, so I would recommend you review the links above, and also perform a Google search for the terms in the quotes of this sentence.

I think it was SWA's videos for Sonar 8 that was done by a Scot. I thought he had a clear enunciated accent, by loads of Americans were in uproar over it. Karl on the other hand sounds really really English. The SWA videos were my favourite, really well done, preferred to the Groove3 ones I picked up free with X3.

Thanks a million guys. I checked youtube first and could not find them, glad you were able to. Karl is awesome and these videos are the best thing for learning.

Don't know why the CW shop no longer carries the SWA X3 tutorial video... Especially since it sells the SWA Complete Sonar 2015, which, unfortunately, only covers the new features of 2015/Platinum.

That YouTube link for X3 is for the new features (2015) only.

But the SWA X2 vids (Looks like YouTube has the entire playlist!) will get you about 90% there...

Alternatively, you can check out Groove3's X3 vids which are also excellent.

"Karl Rove is actually FastBikerBoy in the forums." Bob Bone, if Karl Rose is on here, you may want to edit this name in your post.   No one wants to be called Carl Rove.

If Karl's SWA vids have been removed from the Cake Store I for one would URGENTLY encourage the Baker's to put them back up... even if they are mostly up on Youtube now. I think I own almost ALL of Karl's vids and have them stored on my research laptop for quick reference. Watching them on Youtube is a PITA (because YT itself has ever increasingly become a PITA since Google bought them out).

Of course some of the material is now out of date but 90% is still spot on and relevant. His series on Sonar FX and Instruments have been an absolute doGsend for me personally as well.

I also lurves me some Eli Kransberg but honestly, as helpful as his Sonar vids are Karl's are WAAAAAY more thorough and useful. I don't think Eli is a hardcore Sonarite like Karl is. His music theory/general production vids though are great. I loved his Jazz series on G3.

Of course whenever the subject of tutorials comes up we can never forget Mr. Scott Garrigus and his Power books (and his Digifreq site). I would really like to see him shift to maybe a regular article + video effort with the new SONAR model though. Then of course there is Mr. Anderton's SOS articles which are easily searchable and my personal favorite... the old X1 Advanced vids he did which aren't really beginner's tuts but show a whole pile of cool things you can do with SONAR (most of which is still relevant).

Cheers.

Even if they are on youtube, its just nice having them to watch and as many videos on youtube, here today, gone tomorrow. I felt that Karls videos were the best $15 I have ever invested in audio recording and l have no problem paying the money to support Sonar and the work Karl did.

Indeed. I maintain a specific folder where I store ALL my vids, manuals, eZines, etc for quick access (this includes hardware manuals, third party vids/manuals, my wacky notes and so on as well... not just SONAR stuff). As I acquire new material it gets added to the various folders and backed up/moved to other systems as needed.

Local documentation is defs the way to go. I still reference online resources frequently (more often actually) but it's great having my own, ever growing collection of digital knowledge.

Cheers.
