Keeping SONAR playing when its window isn't on top - how?
Dear Anyone. I have to use a mouse and notation package to enter music as I am disabled and can't really play a keyboard because of the disability. So I got SONAR X1 Producers Edition. And I've used MIDI-YOKE to join my notation package, Quick Score Elite Level 2, to Sonar. Tested it, got notes going in, noise coming out, cool. Until... I wanted to put a few chords into Quick Score Elite and hear what they sounded like on Sonar sounds - AS I was putting them in. So each note played back as I put it on the stave. And discovered that Sonar only makes noise when it's the window on top in the Windows pecking order. If I've got Quick Score Elite on top, i.e. when I'm putting notes into it, no noise. If I start Quick Score Elite playing back and quickly click the Sonar window so it's now on top/activated - perfect noise. Is there ANY way to set things up so I can put a note into Quick Score Elite AND have Sonar instantly play it even though it isn't the window on top at that point, Quick Score Elite is, as that's the window I'm inputting the notes into? I know it's not 'the done thing' to ask 2 question in 1 thread but these 2 are pretty-much interlinked. Quick Score Elite Level 2 has Rewire. As does Sonar. But neither of them can 'see' the other one - the Rewire option in Sonar is always grayed out (if Sonar's to be the master - I suppose that's right, I'm hopeless at Rewire) and if I click on Rewire in Quick Score Elite, it doesn't find Sonar. I USED to have Reason ages ago and Quick Score Elite found Reason fine with Rewire. It's just not finding Sonar. No idea why, if anyone else has - AND if Sonar plays when it's not on top if you're using Rewire instead of MIDI-Yoke, then please, I'd love to know. Anyone got any ideas on either of the above? I just wanna stick a note into QSE and hear a noise coming out of Sonar as I'm inputting the note, NOT having to change windows all the time and use playback to hear one new note. Yours hopefully ulrichburke
