I'm very lucky to have a wife that understands my hobbies and lets me have such a nice space. I was about to make exactly the same comment. Be sure to include her input as to cosmetic touches, such as choosing a fabric to cover your traps. Not only will her sense of taste probably be better than yours, she'll also feel a little co-ownership in the project and not come to think of it as an off-limits this-is-MY-space man-cave kind of thing. Even if she doesn't understand why on earth you need to buy a lava lamp.

It's a well known fact that the dirt adds "warmth" and "naturalness" that clean places just cannot match.
Many top studios pay to bring in the best dirt.
