Keyboard Controller

I'm using Sonor 8.5.3 on a laptop. I want to connect a small keyboard controller, 25 key let's say, and map each key to a specific audio track. That key would start and stop the audio track. How hard would it be to accomplish something like this? I haven't tried it yet, I thought I'd get some input before trying to set this up.

Dual boot, separate HDD,
Win XP Home SP3 & Win 7 
 
Sonor Studio 8.5 
AMD Quad Core 3.00GHz
4.00 GB Ram
480 GB SSD
500 GB 7200 RPM HDD
