Keyboard Shortcut Tips: turn loop on and off?

Hey there. I lost that keyboard shortcuts cheat-sheet that shipped with Sonar 3.

Are there keyboard shortcut for:
- 'set loop points to selection'
- 'loop on/off'
???

Cheers.

I can't remember if there are any shortcuts for these functions, but I used the key bindings window to set up my own "user friendly " short cuts.

cntl + L, to set the loop and cntl + O, to turn it off.

My workflow has been faster since doing this...I use them all the time.

    Yah,
CTRL-L will groove-clip a clip, not set a loop region.

But, as you figured out, these commands are bindable. I set ALT-L to be Loop on/off. I don't think I did bind "set loop points" though, that's a good to have quick access to!

I have set backslash ("\") key to loop on\off and ctrl or shift-backslash to set loop points to selection.

Backslash is just below the esc key on italian keyboards, so it's very easy to find it and it soon became second nature :)

There are no native shortcuts for these functions up to SONAR 7.02

    Hrmn, good idea!

I think our backslash is right under our backspace key (I guess that makes now that I read it). Still, maybe you're onto something there. Keybinding time when I get home!

it's easy to bind in the bindings page, isn't it?

for me, "alt+L" sets selection to loop, "L" toggles loop on/off

I think this feature is already there if you just use it-

I'm not sure... but I think that L is tied Loop on/off by default? No? I did a key bind to Shift-L to set the loop points to the selection.

Strange, Shift-N toggles my Snap to Grid dialog open (but not closed!!!) but it doesn't show up in the bindings box as assigned. Is that a default?

for me, "alt+L" sets selection to loop, "L" toggles loop on/off

So that means you changed the Too&ls menu so that Alt-L doesn't bring it up? Isn't it great to be able to to do that?

If only the dialogs for the menu and key customizations weren't so click- and scroll-intensive. And if only all functions could be assigned. I would love to be able to put clip envelopes under a single key command. But I'd setting for being able to bring them up higher in the context menu. Laziness is the mother of customization. Maybe Sonar 8. Or Sonar 9. Or Sonar 10 (which my personal codename for is ProjectR....)

    Menus are user editable.

I know. But not all menu commands are available in the menu editor... such as making clip envelopes. At least I've never been able to find that....and I've looked any number of times. If I'm wrong about that... and I would love to be.... PLEASE tell me where they hid it! Oh to be able to do a clip envelope with a single click. Or better yet... to be able to create or delete clip envelopes for all selected clips (especially when comping)... or better yet... to optionally have all new audio clips created with a specified type of clip env.... and to have clip envelopes not cause the Select All Siblings item to be grayed out. (I think this thread is now officially hijacked... sorry.... )
