Keyboard to Loop

Hi :) I'm a complete novice when it comes to Midi and Cakewalk so please be gentle.....

I have just got MC6 and am feeling my way around what it can and can't do, seems very good and easy to get started with, BUT I have questions....

I want to record three or so notes on my keyboard (psr 403) then edit and make them into a loop.. I have sussed the record bit and looped on the track but can't seem to edit (wavform type) when I click I get that piano roll thing?

Hope someone here can work out what I mean and offer help :)

Feel free to pity me for my complete lack of knowledge ;)

    Welcome to the forum.
Waveform is audio, piano roll is midi. You need to bounce or freeze your soft synth to audio to get wave to work on.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

You need to record the midi (computer data... not audio/sound) from the keyboard... not the audio.

With midi you can edit it very easily compared to audio.

my website might help to explain midi a bit more if you don't understand it too much at this point.
