Keyswitching in the PRV? (SOLVED)
I have the Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass from Native Instruments which allows the use of keys to control articulations. When I create a note in the PRV to represent a keyswitch being played I expect the function to activate as if I were playing on a controller but nothing changes. Shouldn't this work or is keyswitching only intended for performance through a MIDI controller? Thanks, Blues

Yes, it should work. Could be you're in the wrong octave. Different Devs use different middle Cs.

It works... just gotta find the right keys for the vst you are working with or redefine that vst's keyswitching to an area where it is visible with your other data...

BTW the documented keys switches may not work if you are using a different scale. However finding them isn't all that hard.

Also, the keyswitches work when you drag a note to different pitches in the PRV. I can see the switches being applied in a Kontakt instrument as I change the pitch. For me, Kontakt and the PRV were off by one octave for some instruments.

Yeah that's the just of it. No uses c-2 as a base sonar uses c0 and all the SFZ synths use c-1. The easiest thing to do with NI is set sonar's base octave for pitches in preferences to -2, though that will throw off some other stuff.

I did find what I needed through the hunt and peck method but DRanck's method is a great definitive way to find whatever I may need. As if MIDI isn't confusing enough? Thanks to all I'm in business! Blues

There's a way to change what sonar uses through the cakewalk.ini file, I believe, but I can't find the command. one of cakewalk employees told me about it several years ago, but I've lost it.
