Kinetic 2 on a Mac, Yes But...

Hello All,

I got Kinetic 2 installed on my Macbook after acquiring both Parallels directly from Apple on Black Friday and Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 locally last weekend.

Last night I discovered an earlier theory that within Parallels, you can choose how much RAM is going to alloted to the PC side and 1500 MB is the max.

The only downside is that so far the playback of the tracks quickly gets out of sync and the end result makes me just want to upgrade my PC and move the software back to it.

I also installed SHS XL and have yet to add the various samples to the HD for playback.

Anyone with any suggestions on how to keep the tracks in sync is appreciated in advance.

One neat observation otherwise is that I was getting lowest CPU readings that I have ever seen within the program (averaging around 19-21% CPU usage).

As a recommendation, I am neutral on Windows on a Mac as a need until music production software can be used flawlessly. I know that it can be done and I am getting closer to discovering the secret and tips on how to do it.

The portability factor (for production and playback) is the biggest attraction of the quest right now.

Peace,

Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio 4 XL was successfully used on my Macbook and I just left tips on how to configure your Mac to do the same on the Cakewalk SHS forum.

Setting up SHS did help with K2, but K2 is not working as dependable as I would imagine that it should.

As a result, I will continue to use my desktop PC and use K1 on the PC while using any of K2's DXi software within my Macbook exclusively.
