King of the Road...

Hey my Dad had the same record... it was one of the few us kids were allowed to play on the Zenith flip down record player.

Here's a quickie I did at the dining room table (we don't actually have a dining room) right about the time we started the whole house total destruction and remodel.

http://harmoniccycle.com/...20the%20Road%2012a.mp3

I did it in a couple hours and saved it to the hard drive. I think at the time I was trying to see just how much "too compressed" was "to compressed" because I had recently purchased two  compressors. I think I found out.

:-)

I kinda liked the soft swing this version seemed to end up with. The extra vocal seems goofy now that I have some perspective on it. :-)

Hey baps... maybe we can audio snap the two and go hard left and right?

:-)

Off to the football game.

best regards,
mike

I was in  rush to go to work this morning... I came back and fixed the grammar and spelling. :-)

That sounded good. Brought back some memories for me as well.

My dad's preference is England Swings. He can really whistle and liked to tweet along with it.

We used to do King Of The Road back in my oldies country band days.

    Thanks,

    Bub

Great cover of a classic!  The mix gave me that sitting around just jamming vibe.  KUDOS!

What is this, a battle of the bands?  I've heard this song covered many times, but never like yours or Ed's.  I will stop before it's too late.

Just got back from the football game.

Thanks everyone for being nice. :-)

I had heard bapu's version and just wanted to get in on the fun.

    :-)

I was hoping there'd be another half a dozen versions of this song posted by now.

    :-)

    best regards,
    mike
