Kirk Hunter Studios 2013 Year End Group Buy

Copied from KVR post http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=400168:

This year Kirk Hunter Studios is introducing its most advanced string
sample library to date, Spotlight Strings, representing a breakthrough
in realism and playability for string sample libraries. Even better,
we're offering you the opportunity to purchase it as part of our year
end, 2013 Group Buy.

We're offering every major Kirk Hunter Studios sample library as part
of the Group Buy.

How it works:
1. Join the Group Buy by signing up HERE
By signing up, you commit yourself to purchasing at least ONE of the
libraries listed there, and also listed at the bottom of this posting.

Instant Gratification
Once you sign up, you can purchase right then and there, or at the end of the Group
Buy. If you purchase now, you will be given a refund of the difference
between the price you paid and the Group Buy ending price. That way,
you can enjoy the library(s) now. You will have the option of purchasing on the signup page HERE

2. Watch the Group Buy Discount Levels at the bottom of this posting.

3. Watch/monitor our Group Buy Thread here at KVR and participate in the
conversation!

4. Spread the Word to Others Who Use Sample Libraries and Save Even More!
The more people that join the Group Buy, the lower the price of the
libraries. So, it pays to tell others about the group buy in the
forums you use, in social media -- anywhere your fellow musicians who
use sample libraries visit

Sounds good to me. I'm in the market for a strings library and the Spotlight string look great to me. $300 is a little steep, but with the group buy hopefully the price will come down to reasonable levels. At $150 I'm really interested.

I already have one of the Kirk Hunter string libraries and it's great. This new one really sounds excellent. I wasn't planning on adding more strings to my collection but now I am with this new product and the Group Buy - if it gets to a good percentage.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I would encourage anyone interesting is solo and/or small section strings to download the demo and give it a spin. These are some very cool strings!

I was just playing with CS2 and Diamond yesterday and was amazed again at how beautiful KH Strings are.  To be honest, I can't see how this new library is more realistic.  I am not in the market for more strings, but if the GB gets to 50% then it will be tempting.  Will be watching as we have until Feb 1 to decide/join.

I never cared for tr KH libraries. I have one but never could get it to sound or blend well for my projects & ended up deleting it off my hd.

There's something about them I don't like including this new one. To my ears they sound synthetic. The concept is interesting but unfortunately the quality & realism falls short.

    YMMV

Number of participants is now over 100, so the 25% discount level has been reached.

Also, Kirk has announced significant permanent price reductions on all libraries.

    The new list prices are:
    Spotlight Strings - $249 (previously $299)
    Concert Strings 2 - $399 (previously $799)
    Concert Brass 2 - $249 (previously $349)
    Pop Rock Strings - $179 (previously $249)
    Diamond Orchestra - $299 (previously $549)
    Solo Strings 1 - $79.00 (previously $99)

    Link to announcement: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=400666

    Edit:
That means if we get 200 more people to join the group buy, the final discount would be equal to the insane 75% off group buy from a couple of years ago. I never thought I would see that happen again. <mind blown>

Sigh. This category will be the death of me. I am going to have to buy at least one of his products now I think, probably more than one :P.

The price reductions do increase the temptation. I am still watching this one, Spotlight Strings for under 80 Pounds would be temptation personified.

I'm also looking into seeing how this GB unfolds. I got the Diamond Collection on their last GB (excellent IMHO), but I'm not sure if some of these sounds are included in this new GB list???

Does anyone know if these are new samples or???

Seems like only the Spotlight Solo Strings requires Kontakt 5.2 or newer. The others require K4.

Also, I found this at the KHS website:

"Please Note: Do you currently own a KH library? If so, you are entitled to an additional 5% off the Group Buy price. To get this discount, please send your receipt numbers to us at kirkhunterstudios@gmail.com. In the subject field, please write "KH Customer Discount", and then provide all of your receipt numbers, or the email address you used when you purchased your libraries in the body of the text"
