Kirk Hunter TVEC4

Just got an email from Kirk Hunter announcing their new TVEC4 Patternmaker and MicroTuner.  Here is the link:  http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/tvec4.html

There are separate versions for Concert Strings2, Concert Brass2, Diamond and Pop/RockStrings.  Seems a little pricey with regular price of $99 and introductory sale price of $79.  It looks like you have to buy one for each KH library product you own, which could get a little steep, but if this is your field then it may be worth it.

Patternmaker looks a lot like a step sequencer that is "fine tuned" for classical double and triple tongue and for fast phrasing.  MicroTuner lets you adjust the tuning of each note by 100 cents sharp or flat.  "This way, you can do atonal and all kinds of untraditional music that requires tuning with other than the conventional 'Western' method."

I have not tried either yet.  If anyone does, let us know what you think about the TVEC4.

$237 if I wanted to upgrade all mine. I am still learning to use what I have got so I may just sit this one out. But i too would be interested in reports from anyone using it.

Thanks Glyn!  This price make me want to take a second look.  I can't find it for that price on Kirk Hunter site.  Can you post or send a link?
Have you tried it out yet?  Any opinion(s) yet?

Edited:  I just found it under "purchase bundled items" on this page: http://www.kirkhunterstud..com/purchase_tvec4.html

I have not had a chance to try it out yet. I will report back once I have had a play around with it.

Here is a link to the video demo of pattern maker.  It goes by too fast, but it does show how versatile it is: http://www.kirkhunterstud...ideos/patternMaker.mov

Well, initial impressions are good. The factory patterns sound effective and the mechanics of editing them are quite easy. There is probably nothing you could not do in Sonar's PRV but you will be able to do it a lot quicker here.

I had a small glitch with the Diamond NKIs not finding the samples. This was entirely my doing as I had compressed the WAVs to NCW. If you ever encounter this remember to set Kontakt to allow alternative file types before searching for the samples, once located resave the NKI and all is well.

Thanks Glyn!  You comments are helpful here in several ways--especially about Diamond and kontakt alternative file types.  I have been having trouble with this and your suggestion resolves this for me.

I went on and just purchased the TVEC4 for CS2, CB2 and Diamond because this sale price made it affordable; all three for $63 which is less than one at the original price of $79.  Just playing around with it, it seems easy to use and it allows me to do all kinds of runs that were impossible for me without it.
