Klanghelm DC1A free compressor

"DC1A is the little brother of the upcoming compression monster DC8C. I've taken one of my favorite compression styles from DC8C and put it into a two control context. It's inspired by classic opto and FET designs.
DC1A is heavily program dependent, so is the saturation."

-a new RELAXED mode has been added to make it more flexible.
Relaxed mode can be descripted as cleaner and slower compression compared to the original mode.

Thanks Carl!  Will give it a listen.

I don't need any more comps myself but the full version of this might be a good $32.00 investment for those who do.

Waking up an old thread, but I've been using the DC1a on a couple of tracks and it is smooth. I may spring for the full version. Not sure how it compares technically, but for me it is perhaps smoother than the PC2a. Impressive sounding compressor!

    I have the DC8C. It's a versatile & inexpensive comp.
The VUMT is also worth checking out.

    I think I will get the DC8C.

I can't get over the nice round sound without stepping on the highs this little comp produces. What a gem!
