"Know"

A REAL simple, under-produced on purpose, love song I made for Valentine's Day

Hey Tony...  haven't seen you around in a while!

Simple and under-produced?  Yeah, it is to an extent.  But heck, it still sounds really good, and in no small part due to the vocals!   While not bathed in FX they still come across so well within the track.  And the melody isn't so bad either.

Damn you totally sucked me into this song. I'm usually a little turned off by this genre but it's very catchy and beautifully sung. And then that chord progression you break into is just sweet as hell. I was hooked and it's still bouncing around my head. Nice work.

Very well done! That's about a perfect love song for someone. While underproduced, it is in no way "rough".

Fantastic vocal as always Tony, beautifully sung, lead and backing vocals. There's a guy called Lemar who has hits over here in a similar style, but he's not as good as you...

I found the drum pattern a little distracting in the first minute or so, but it blended in after a while.

    Tony,

Great work, like the "under-produced" vibe.  I wish my over-produced stuff sounded that good:)

I did think the drums were a little over-powering, distracting from the vocals to some extent.  Also, the drums seems to be a bit wet in comparison to the rest of the track, however, if you pull them back won't be noticeable.

"The Good" came up right after, love that song...

    Regards

Thank you my friends!! I lowered the snare and the kick..just a tad, enough to give me the pump I need and take SOME of the overpowering aspect away. "Cause at the end of the day I like my drums to kick a little butt

Excellent Tony - vocals are amazing as usual but the dry treatment is fabulous.
Reminds me of early Prince which is no bad thing in my book.

I am driven by songs with a lot of rhythm but in spite of that, you sure drew me into this song.  Your delivery of the vocals was outstanding.  I add my appreciation to the minimalist treatment of this number.
    Excellent stuff Tony!!!

Tony, rather than look at this as "under produced", I see it as a textbook example of self restraint which is hard for many of us self-produced songwriters to attain.  Your great songwriting and performances make this a classic song, imo.  I hope it produced the desired results ;)

The song, performance, and production are great. That Gmaj7 into a Db7 is very cool...wasn't expecting that. And also the second time around how you go from the F#m to Em (instead of regular E). Nice to hear.

Great performance and a beautiful song in its own right! I really love the sound of this track, aside from the awesome performance. It somehow works to sound close and intimate even with those hammering drums, which I also dig quite a lot. Really inspiring stuff!
